Armies of the Ottoman Empire 1775-1820: No. 314 (Men-at-Arms) Paperback – 9 Mar. 1998

Ospreys readers basically know what to expect. If you wargame Napoleonics, you'll probably have dozens of these and rely on them for details of individual regiments, uniforms, combat records, etc. The Ottoman/Osmanli armies are a bit more tricky. This volume certainly supplies some basic information for a topic otherwise not served well (or at all) in English, but don't expect the level of detail you'd get for the major (and minor) European powers. Vague doesn't begin to describe it, but it still contains more information than I've managed to find anywhere else. I'd love to criticise it, except that there does not seem to be anything better available...
