FINAL UPDATE: I had this window film up for FOUR years and have no doubt it would've held up for another four had I not moved and had to take it down. Not one single corner or side was lifting, at all. It was perfect. I credit this to both pep work AND a superior product. I give advice on prepping your windows, how to get the clear plastic off, and how to hang it, below. I have no doubt, if you follow those steps and tips, you'll have a successful install and be as happy with this film as I was. Good Luck and happy holidays! UPDATE: It's hard to believe I've had this film up for a year and a month now and there's not one single spot that's lifting, and I knew it wouldn't. I'm confident this will hold until I finally move. If you are looking for a film that's sturdy and reliable, this is the one. I'm very happy with this purchase. First off, I'll say I love the aesthetics of this privacy film. The way my windows are situated, it throws a prism of color all the way into my dining room, which is the next room over. The largest prism is on the wall opposite the windows. It's beautiful! Another aspect I love is at night, it looks as if the window is covered in icicles. They're so pretty! I love looking at my windows now. BUT, that's not why you're considering purchasing this privacy film. So, here is my take on it: PREP WORK: I didn't go all spring cleaning crazy. I sprayed my windows with the detergent mixture you'll use when hanging the film. Then I wiped it down, then I sprayed with Windex and made sure the dirt and grime was all gone. Yes, I even left my ADT sticker in place. MEASURING and CUTTING: Measure once, then measure again. I began cutting by using the straight lines created by my wooden floor and lined the straight side up to that from the film. Then I used a wooden ruler, and on the SMOOTH side of the film, I drew a marker line. I used scissors to cut the film. I've found that making short cuts, rather than long ones, keeps my lines straight. And using a razor blade tends to rip the edges of the film. HANGING: I did most of it on my own. Impatient Son helped with the 2 bottom windows. Remove the invisible, non-tacky, backing (from the smooth side). You'll need to work from a corner of the film using your fingernail. SIDENOTE: YES, there really is a protective film, you'll probably be able to remove it quicker if you apply a small piece of tape to both sides of the film, and pull it apart from the corner. Once started, lay it flat, on the TEXTURE side, so it doesn't crease, finish removing the backing. Leave it laying flat. The trick is to spray the window, not soak it, and then liberally spray the film on the side that will adhere to the window (the smooth side) with a large spray bottle mixture of water and 3 to 4 drops of dish soap. Adhere the film to the window. Match the top and corners first. Then run your hands down along the sides and middle. Once it's hung, begin from the middle, using a flat edge (Credit Card, squeegee, etc.) work from the center out smoothing the film and removing water and air bubbles. Put something down to catch the excess water, I used a hand towel. This part probably takes the least amount of time and is the most satisfying. :) DURABILITY: It's been hanging for two weeks now with no sign of peeling up, no bubbles, no ripping. This film is thicker than the film I bought from a major Hardware store and that film stayed put for MONTHS until we moved and it was removed, I expect this will do the same. PRIVACY: Does it do what it's advertised to do? Yes... and No. It blocks the view from outside in and vice versa, if you're not standing right next to the window/door. Either way, you're only seeing shapes. I walked outside and put my face up to the door, cupped my eyes and still couldn't see any of my interior. Obviously, from my pictures, if you're standing in front (right next to) the door/window you'll be seen. I didn't apply it for that purpose, I don't want my neighborhood seeing in my house. At the end of the day, you're NOT seeing the interior of your house, you WILL see what's in front of the window or door. In the photos, I've not done the upper windows, I ended up going back and doing them too. My son made the comment that it feels much more comfortable sitting in the living room now. In the photo, you can see the dog and the plant that's right up on the door/ window, but you cannot see the many other plants on the same table from outside. WHAT IT COVERS: 157 inches covered 2 doors and 2 full windows. Hope this help! Have a great day everyone!!

This window cling is just beautiful! Very easy to hang! It’s not sticky adhesive, you just spray water on your window, spray water on the back of the film and stick it on! Very easy to cut to size, either while hanging, or measure to size before hanging. Very much like children’s toy window clings. I used the 17.5 inch wide rolls to do 2 huge windows. I don’t feel like the seems are very noticeable. This just added the perfect amount of privacy while still letting 99% of light in! This product is great quality and great thickness. Easy to work with and hang! And comes off super easy!

This frosted window privacy film worked perfectly for blocking visibility through the front side of our main door. It adds a great level of privacy without sacrificing natural light, and the pattern looks nice from the inside while effectively obscuring the view from outside. It was very easy to apply — just make sure the glass surface is clean. The static cling feature makes it simple to install and reposition if needed, with no sticky residue. The material feels reasonably thick and firm, adding to both durability and a bit of insulation, which helps with temperature control. Overall, it’s a solid, functional solution for anyone needing more privacy on glass windows or doors. The design is minimal and attractive, and we’re very satisfied with the results. I bought this product to increase the privacy of my garage door windows. The product was easy to apply. I had measured/cut each window piece out ahead of time. Products I used; scotch tape, squeegee, xacto knife, window cleaner, ruler, scissors, paper towels, & a spray bottle filled with soapy water. The project took me about 1 1/2 hours to complete with each step factored in. Love the design. Some of the leaf design is clearer than I would have liked. I had wanted everything to be completely obscured if a flashlight were shined in at night. It definitely distorts the view but has some see through spots. I am still happy with the purchase!

Our side lights on our front door we're just plain glass and I always hated the way it looked with the curtain hanging there. Bought this privacy window film and I'm absolutely in love with how it looks. Unless you touch it you would never know it wasn't actually etched glass. It was very easy to apply using soapy water. Yes if you put your face up against it you can look through but the image that you see seems to be distorted so I feel safe having it on my front door.

I am renovating an 180 year old farmhouse....and if you have ever renovated an older home, you know that things can get expensive really quick. I had cracked glass in my transom and this set up is a custom order, so I couldn't replace it with anything off the rack. Needless to say, I started looking for alternatives before I committed to paying$4000 (low end) for a new entryway. This one is solid wood and the craftsmanship was excellent but time had put a beating on it. I decided to try to repair it. We sanded, scraped and did our best, but when we got to the glass, the wood holding the glazing was rotting. So we repaired that and then priced glass....we ordered plane glass and decided to look for an option like this. Let me tell you...I was skeptical.....but I am glad that I was wrong. The application of the product is not difficult, but you must work with CLEAN glass and sharp razors for clean cuts. Get yourself a spray bottle with warm water and a few drops of Dawn dishwashing detergent. (I say Dawn because that is the one I used and it worked extremely well). I cleaned the glass thoroughly with a foaming glass cleaner and lintless cloth. Then I applied the film. Be sure to not let the film touch anything while you remove the protective film from it. There is static that clings to everything, which is good for the glass, but bad for application. Once the film is in place, it stays put. I used a small plastic trowel and lots of soap water sprayed on the outside to get the bubbles out and to make sure that the film had direct contact with all of the glass. Air pockets must be removed. This picture is after the door was completed. I waited a few day and tested the glass...still perfect, no bubbles, no movement of the film. I placed it on my back door which is a lighted door with a large clear glass opening. I am confident that I can walk through the house naked and no one outside could see me ( tried and tested.....LOL). This product is worth the money. I bought the big roll and I will be buying it again when we build the greenhouse. The light coming through is GORGEOUS!!!! I would give this product 10 stars if I could.

This looks amazing in my little window beside my door! I have had many compliments on how pretty it is. It was very easy to install. I followed the directions and it is easy to apply it to the window and it stays with out any issues.

These add such a nice touch. Wanted privacy without sacrificing light, so didn't want blinds or curtains. These work great. The sun shines through them and creates beautiful rainbows over the room! Privacy is achieved, even at night. Although the pattern of the flowers DOES technically have a direction, we installed it sideways and it looks great. Installation was SUPER easy and they have stayed on well! Just make sure to use a lot of soapy water, and a good amount of pressure while squeegeeing the water out. I would recommend cutting a slight bit smaller than the window you want covered as it makes installation easier. I would not recommend cutting it when it is on the window already. it's better to have a small gap around the privacy film than to use a knife on expensive windows!!!

It mostly went on excellently the minor issues were my faulty and fixable. It still allows for light to come in but gives the desired privacy. The colours , when they come out, are not garish.
