Harmony Gear Lasso Security Cable for Tandon/Sit on Top, Recreational and Fishing Kayaks

This is a great cable. Easy to use to secure my kayak safely. The combo lock is so much easier to use that searching for a key every time you take your yak out.Highly recommend this product. Much better than others I have used.

I have two kayaks in a public rack rented for the year. Two of these do the trick of keeping them secure from theft and if you really secure them properly, from loss in a tropical storm. I just checked on my kayaks after Isaias and they didn't budge. Bravo!

These cables are of good quality. They are nice and thick and the lock feels sturdy. They do require some patience to figure out how to secure them on the kayak (I have a 10.4 katana) in a way that you cannot slip them off the ends. It took me a while to figure out a way to wrap them around my roof rack and I had a couple bigger guys come and yank on them and try to slip them off the ends. After a while I got it figured out I just had to figure out what worked for my size of kayak and roof rack.

I bought this lock to store my tandem kayak outside of my house along a fence. The lock is easy to use, making sure it is tight and secure is another story. It took some manipulation but I finally got it locked so you couldn't just slip the loops over the side. I highly recommend this as a simple solution for locking your kayak up, just a little bit of a learning curve.

I wasn't able to successfully use it as intended, but that could be because my kayak isn't as pointy as others. I have a Wilderness Systems Ride 115.I ended up giving up and looping it through some of the scupper holes in my kayak... Which worked pretty well.Maybe it's too long, maybe it's not intended for my kayak, or maybe I'm just too stupid. Whichever it is, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

Works as described . We’ve been using it as part of our system to secure two sea kayaks at our public kayak storage. The length was great for our Necky Kayak.

My kayak has a narrow front and wider back end. Could not get the loop snug enough on the back to tighten the cable and secure the kayak.

Having recently purchased a nice kayak, and installed a cartop rack with saddles- I needed a way to secure it from theft. My first look was at cables that need to go through a hole in the kayak ( which I don't have). Finding the lasso was a score. It came quickly, was packaged well in a very strong carry bag- with adjustable closure & carry strap. Two sets of instructions were included- 1 for how to attach & loop the separate cables to your crossbars, and 1 for setting a new combination for the lock. Pay close attention to the lock instructions as you need to rotate a key barrel once with the 0000 combination that it comes with, and once with your new combination. The cables are thick & well shielded, and the loops generous, with plenty of remaining cable for my 10.5' kayak. The quality is superb, all way round- on the lasso. Nothing about this is cheap or marginal. Pretty ingenious invention!
