Fantastic resource for startup leaders--highly recommended
Loved Startup CXO. Like Blumberg's other books, this tome provides practical, hands-on guidance for CEOs and founders who are scaling their functions and looking to empower their leaders. As a successful entrepreneur, Blumberg understands the importance of building high-performing teams at every stage of growth. The experts who write various sections bring added insights that make this book a referenceable guide for anyone looking to build a successful startup. Highly recommended reading.

Best practices for executive management functions given by an allstar group of proven leaders!
This book is a phenomenal resource for any startup founder, CEO or executive manager in any field. Matt Blumberg goes into depth on managing different functions of a business, the best part is that he collaborated with many leaders that he grew his first company with. This will become a guidebook that I continously reread sections for knowledge & will recommend to startups that I advise. The world needs more successful leaders to share best practices on this level...

I highly recommend
I have the privilege of mentoring or coaching a number of startup CEOs and will definitely be recommending this book and likely "gifting" it frequently. As the book is organized by all the major functions of a team, it is easy to use as a reference guide by any startup CEO and/or team member. Valuable insights and perspectives are shared throughout.

An Invaluable Resource for Startup Leaders
Matt Blumberg is a founder/CEO of tech startups. His first book, Startup CEO was intended to teach first-time CEO’s how to do their jobs as they built and scaled their business. Startup CXO is also primarily targeted at startup CEOs, but teaches how all the other key players in the business do their jobs, and how the CEO can best work with them.Startup CXO is called a “field guide” meaning that it’s not intended to be read cover to cover. Rather, it is pulled off the shelf for reference at specific times in the startup’s life. The book is organized into eleven sections generally by function. Each section is broken into chapters on specific activities within those functions. I would expect Startup CXO to often be referenced as the business is establishing different functions, when they are facing challenges in specific dimensions of the business, or especially when the CEO is considering expanding a function or stepping up the leadership in that area.I found Startup CXO to be an invaluable resource. I know there’s some hesitancy to buy a book you don’t need now and don’t ever plan on actually reading, but trust me, if you are a startup CEO, there will soon come a day when you’ll wish you had this book on your shelf ready to pull down and reference. For most entrepreneurs this book will save you a ton of time, money, and trouble.

A great CEO isn't enough to make a successful company!
As an advisor to a revenue-positive technology start-up, I've seen a wealth of resources for founders and CEOs. This book is a much-needed resource for everyone else on the leadership team. It's well-written, clear and actionable. It frames the questions that early stage businesses should be asking themselves to pressure test their talent and to challenge themselves on taking the actions needed to build and scale a company.

Great field guide to identify and develop your CXO skills
A team of C-level functional heads who have worked together on various startups wrote this book, and their advice is simple and sound. It's easy to read, well-indexed (a big plus in my view), with a clear table of contents. The print copy has high-quality paper, a slick binding, and a dust cover. I skimmed the book on the first pass, then read through each CEO-to-CEO advice chapter. Don't miss the sections marked "You know it's time to hire a CXO when. . . "!
