We add a colourant during this process, giving the timber a rich brown colour. We only suggest that you apply a good quality water repellent to prolong the longevity of the timber. Slow grown spruce Unlike our competitors, we only use high-quality spruce timber in our garden gazebos rather than cheap pine or mixed timber. Why do we use slow grown spruce rather than the much cheaper knotty pine alternatives? Spruce is considered more stable as it expands and contracts less than pine. This stability means that the spruce walls of our garden buildings minimise gaps appearing as the timber changes along with the weather. We responsibly source all our timber, where it grows slowly in the cold northern regions. Additional Information Installation - We do not offer installation. All our garden buildings have been designed for the DIY market and supplied with full pictorial instructions and YouTube tutorials. Review: Love it - It came quickly and delivery was well organised. Constructing was defo a 2 man job - none of the holes were pre drilled so you need a good drill and screwdriver. The instructions were clear enough (I'm no whizz at this sort of thing but I got the gist after some pondering !) It looks great and just what I needed. The wood seems good quality for the price I paid. There are no fittings to the floor so I will need to probably sort that as the windy winter months approach - but it is a heavy piece of furniture in the corner so it would take something to lift it up I would say ! As I say, it took about a day to put up from start to finish and it's been well worth the effort. Thanks.

A: we have this pergola free standing on paving slabs. It is quite heavy, so dont expect it to move.

**Q: Could this support the weight of a punchbag?**
A: I suppose it could  its very sturdy and solid wood but to be on the safe side you could also buy weights to go round the feet which would give you a piece of mind

**Q: is this strong enough to hold a Perspex or similar roof please?**
A: The structure is strong enough, but it will depend on how you Anchor the product if just free standing a strong wind may see it heading next door!

It came quickly and delivery was well organised. Constructing was defo a 2 man job - none of the holes were pre drilled so you need a good drill and screwdriver. The instructions were clear enough (I'm no whizz at this sort of thing but I got the gist after some pondering !) It looks great and just what I needed. The wood seems good quality for the price I paid. There are no fittings to the floor so I will need to probably sort that as the windy winter months approach - but it is a heavy piece of furniture in the corner so it would take something to lift it up I would say ! The pergola looks amazing now that it is up but it was not as easy to assemble as expected. The instructions were really clear but it took a lot of time to measure and drill all the holes before assembly. I would have expected it to be pre-drilled as it came as a pack ready to assemble. This is definitely a 2-3 man job and can't be assembled alone - especially getting the roof beams attached. I did add half a dozen extra batons to the roof for additional stability but now that it is up, it looks great and i am looking forward to the climbers i have planted doing thier job and providing a lovely canopy up the sides and top.
