This jacket is amazing but it runs smalllllllll
I had the fight of my life with Amazon because I bought this jacket and then the next day Amazon put it on sale for like $60 off an refused to price match themselves. So I ordered it again at the sale price and then returned the first one. Not pleased with Amazons lack of customer service, but very pleased with the jacket. The inner sleeves are some fleecy type of stuff so they don't freeze your arms when you put it on AND it makes a cuff under the wrist of your sleeve so that nothing gets in there. The Caveat: I measure in at 5'7", I am between 145 to 150 LBS, my bust is 38", waist is 30" and hips are 40-41". I normally wear a medium T shirt and size up to a large jacket because my arms are kinda long for my body. I got an XL in this jacket and it fits great! its not a fitted style. So you wont look like you're wearing a cinched waist trench coat, but thats OK because you aren't... You're literally wearing a down parka because you're cold so embrace it. I have never purchased anything in an XL in my life and I decided to do so because I watched a youtube video that I found by entering the jacket name and size. I saw the lady try on an XL and it looked smaller that I expected so I decided to wing it and return if it didn't fit. If you take the fur trim thing off of the hood, the hood won't deep enough to wear really. I can positively confirm this because I have an absolutely tiny head and it still wasn't deep enough to stay on my head well without the fur. Good news is the fur will probably grow on you once you find out that it keeps snow out of your face REALLY well. The arms also have little fleece cuffs inside of the

Just About Perfect!
This coat is so much lighter than my previous down coat and it’s so warm!. It’s puffy, but still tucks in a bit at the waist so it’s not shapeless. The fleece inside the body is so comfortable, the fleece cuffs feel great and the fleece around the neck feels so good when you’re out in the biting cold. I was torn about what size to get. I’m 5’5” and 135 - 140 lbs, slim hipped, but a bit on the busty side (36 C bra). I ordered the Large and I’m glad I did. I still have room with a heavy sweater on underneath, but barely - although there’s lots of room in the hip area. I think the medium would have been too small across the chest. The hood is large and without a hat on, I probably will need to roll the faux fur back to see. I’m quite pleased with this coat, but busty girls should size up!

Finally a warm BUM!
I live in a winter wonderland, and I was tired of a cold bum. This coat is lovely. It hits almost to my knees, the 700 down fill is super warm, and the exterior is nice. I don't love the shell portion - feels like a down sleeping bag on the outside, but it's totally fine. We don't usually have wet snow, just cold, dry snow, so I haven't tested the water-resistance. I'm 5'8", narrow build (140, small chest, narrow-ish hips, belly of a mom that's had 4 kids). I bought a medium. It fits so nicely compared to other coats I've tried (I have many - see winter wonderland comment above). Full arm articulation, no tightness through the body. It's super warm, and I've been almost too hot in 20F weather, but since it will only be colder, I love it. I also like the soft cuffs and that the lining isn't super cold when putting it on like some other coats I've tried. Those cold lining coats are worse than climbing into non-flannel sheets in the winter - WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT TO GOOD PEOPLE?? My two minor complaints which are bearable for the cost savings compared to the more expensive options, are how narrow the walking space is when fully zipped - I feel like I'm walking in a tightish mini-skirt, not a normal thing for this farmgirl. But I can unzip up the bottom to improve movement, just a bit inconvenient to do before climbing into the car. And my other complaint is that the zipper takes a few tries to seat itself so it's not the smoothest zip up experience. I tried a Land's End coat that fit terribly, both potential sizes - way too small and way too big (S/M). Then I tried another mid-thigh option but it was lacking fill power and just wasn't warm enough. My husband also vetoed both other coats for being too frumpy too, but he liked the chevron pattern and design on this one. More importantly, he said I looked a lot warmer. I also don't dig the furry hood trim, so that got taken off pretty quickly - like in five minutes. It might go back on if weather gets nasty, as it is prone to do.

Very Warm
I originally planned to get a North Face jacket. After reading some reviews I wasn't confident the long North Face would bring the warmth needed for Michigan winters. I searched and read hundreds of reviews before settling on the Marmot jacket. I am glad I did the research because I love this jacket. I am 5'5" and 135 lbs. I normally fit small for most items but based on reviews I got a medium. I probably could have been fine with a small but like that the medium gives me enough room to comfortably wear sweaters underneath the jacket....although this jacket is very warm and a sweater isn't needed. It hasn't been below 0 yet but I have been very warm wearing just a normal long sleeve and leggings while wearing this coat in the early Michigan weather so far. I am not tolerant of cold weather or being cold but I am actually hot wearing boots or a scarf or hat so far so I am confident I will be warm enough when it does actually get below 0. Inside of the jacket and pockets is lined with a light fleece. Very soft and comfortable but also helps block out any wind from reaching my skin. The medium comes down about an inch and a half below my knees. The jacket is very lightweight for such a warm jacket. Glad I finally invested in something that will make the winters here much more manageable.

Extremely Tight in Cleavage Area*** Buyer Beware
So this is my first ever review. But my experience with this inaccurate sizing of the coat and the lack of anything on customer service part is forcing me to write this review. I purchased a size small, in US size I am a 0-2; 110lbs; 5'5; Non-athletic build. The cleavage area is extremely tight. I wear a Size A Bra. Wearing a hoodie or medium-thick sweater under this coat makes the chest and inner arm seams stretch to the point where down is now escaping. Unless you wear a thin shirt its not overbearingly tight. Everywhere else fits fine. I measured my dimensions provided in the description. I ordered a small, the tags say S/P/CH and the manufacture tag says Tailor: petite. NO WHERE ON THE DESCRIPTION DID IT STATE PETITE. Amazon says the sizing parameters are from the manufacturer so they bear no responsibility for the sizing issue. Now I can not exchange the item for a medium without paying a price difference. Amazon told me to call Marmot since all they can do is give me my money back. I ordered this coat on Black Friday. This experience has been a nightmare I am moving from FL to the North in 3 days and Ive never lived in a cold climate so I wanted to invest in a good winter jacket. If you purchase this coat, go up a size just for the chest area or it will be too tight.

This is the best winter coat I have ever purchased! I love Marmot!
I will never buy any other brand when it comes to winter coats. I have absolutely LOVED every Marmot down coat that I have purchased. I am 5'0" and 135 lbs. The first Marmot down coat that I purchased was the Montreal. I got the Montreal coat in a size small. While the small fits, it doesn't leave much room to wear anything bulky under it, like a sweater or sweatshirt. It's possible to wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath the size small, but it somewhat pulls at the seams in the chest/back area. I decided to buy the Montreaux because I liked how it is even longer than the Montreal. I bought the Montreaux in a size medium to allow for a little more room to wear sweaters/sweatshirts underneath. I am very pleased. The medium is definitely roomy enough to wear heavier layers under. It hits me a little below the knees, which I like because it keeps me even warmer! Both the Montreal and Montreaux coats have kept me comfortable in -0 degree temperatures. I tend to wear the Montreal more on days when the mornings start off cold and the afternoons warm up. I wear the Montreaux when it stays cold throughout the entire day. Like I said at the beginning of my review, I will never ever buy any other brand when it comes to winter coats that keep you really warm during extremely cold temperatures and are of very good quality.

My favorite winter coat
I’ve only had this coat for a couple of weeks, but it is my favorite winter coat so far! I bought the XS and I’m 5’2 and ~108 lbs. It is a tighter fit, but I can still wear a decent sized sweater underneath and don’t have any issues. The coat is very warm and long. It hits me just past my knees. The 2-way zipper is convenient so I can get in and out of the car without unzipping it completely. The torso portion has a fleece lining for added warmth. The pockets are roomy and zip, which is a must for me. Overall, I love this coat and I wish I had bought one sooner. It was worth every penny, in my opinion.

Excellent!
The quality standard for this brand is quite high and this coat does not disappoint. It is everything it promises it will be in terms of its technical aspects and it is also well designed and flattering to a female body. My husband bought me this coat last winter, so I have had the joy of wearing it through two seasons now. I highly recommend this coat.
