Definitely Worth Any Differential In Price From Competitive Products
There are already about a thousand reviews on these banana plugs, so at this point, the fact that you're reading this review is sorta inconsequential. I felt compelled to write the review because these are totally worth the price i paid. They are well designed and well constructed. The first thing that i thought when i pulled one of these plugs out of the box was.. "Wow, this is heavy for its size." These are well made, work like a charm and have a low profile, which you might not consider when buying banana plugs. The shorter the better, because if you have you equipment close to a wall or other structure, you want a "stubby" banana plug. I actually hesitated to buy these, as the Amazon Basics plugs were a couple of dollars less (check out the distribution of star ratings on the Amazon Basics banana plugs). Don't skimp here. The effort to pull your equipment out, wire up the banana plugs and reposition everything, is a pain. Using inferior plugs could have you revisiting your equipment much sooner than anticipated. I always look at the distribution of star ratings. Anything around or below a 10% 1 Star rating is probably a good product. These bad boys have a 1 star percentage of 0%. Check out the distribution of the star ratings on these. This many people are not wrong. Hats off to MediaBridge by the way, because as simple and straight forward as banana plugs can be, there are always missteps and badly designed products. You can tell that the product manager on this was thoughtful and had very good attention to detail. Packaging was also awesome. Highly recommended. I love products that are designed by subject matter experts. You can tell that these were designed by such a person.

Easy installation, great design!
For a newcomer to home theater, these things are about as dummy-proof as i could ask for. Easy five out of five. I tried multiple different brands of banana plugs (Monoprice, Rocketfish) while trying to set up my speakers, and the Mediabridge plugs were the easiest to use by a mile. The inside of the barrel leaves enough space for the speaker wire to fold over in position, while leaving enough room to prevent them from interfering with the threading when screwing the plugs back together, which was a big failing for me with the Monoprice plugs. I have had these installed on my speakers and AVR for two months with no issues thus far. Worth the money just for the ease of use alone. Update: seven months later, still going strong with no issues or need to re-adjust the plugs or wiring. These are some fantastic banana plugs, end of story.

Good, and tight!
These are good quality, nice and tight. I've got some banana plugs from Home Depot and while they're good, the open screw type is a little tricky. Since it has a hole the back it seems like the wire should go through there but it's supposed to just get crimped into the side hole. I made it work going through back, bending and clamping onto the wire. Kind of a pain, and some wire sticks out the other side. I was fairly certain that there's got to be a better design for banana plugs. Then I found these. Now this is what I'm talking about. Push the wire through the hole, fold it over and screw the two halves back together. Simple! You only need to strip about a ยผ" of insulation. AND, they hold the wire very tightly. No fear of the wire pulling out. The Mediabridge banana plugs fit tighter in the binding posts than the store bought ones, so unplugging them is a bit more difficult. To me that just screams "Good Connection!", plus I don't plan on unplugging them very often. When I was trying different speaker configurations, it was nice not to have to pull with too much force when I wanted to quickly switch speakers. Now that I'm all set up, these will work fine. They will stay put and I will probably never unplug them again until I need to replace my receiver. Were these absolutely necessary, no the speaker wires were already screwed in but they make a really good connection as well as give the receiver a nice clean look in the back. One thing I thought was b.s. is that I've had these on my wishlist for a few months and they've been $19.99. So I put them in my cart and they sat there for a few days while I decided on a few more items for purchase. Then they suddenly jumped up to $22.99! I almost deleted them but decided I wanted them anyway and figured they were good quality and worth the price (they are). So, if you've had your eyes on these for while and are wondering why the price jump, you can thank me for that. You're welcome!

Easy to install, good connections
These plugs appear to be good quality, nice gold plating on the connection surfaces. Good metal bodies, very little use of plastic. Clear instructions for installation, making for easy set up. The method of use is easy: thread speaker wire up through base of the plug (rather than a small side opening), bend the wire over serrated teeth at top of the interior tube, then screw the top on firmly. The result seems to be a firm grip on the speaker wire - tugging gently on the wire produced no movement or slippage. The plugs fit firmly in the speaker posts of my Pioneer receiver. I've only had these three weeks, so I can't speak to durability. So far, though, I'm pleased with them. A few dollars more for this package than the cheapest available plugs, but they appear to be worth that small price bump for the quality of construction and intelligent design.

Like jewels in a box.
Opening the box containing these connectors was surprising. They we beautiful Now I know that looks is no reason to buy an item like this, but they were pretty. They were very simple to use, simply unscrew the two halves of the connector, strip off a bit of the insulation on the wire, stick the wires through the bottom connector piece bend the wires over the internal barrel and screw the two pieces back together. Only tool required is something to strip the wire. These connectors are much shorter than most making it easier to push the speaker closer to a wall if you want. In my opinion they are high quality and worth the price.

Easy to mount, somewhat insulated
I ran out of high end BLue Jeans Cable gold plated banana plugs as I was setting up a new audio system. I had a quick look on Amazon to find the best plugs I could get quickly, and found this very reasonably priced set that was well reviewed. What I liked: - The tail end of the plug is very wide, and allows the insulation to fit in it. As a result, you don't have to strip as much insulation to use this banana plug: about1/2" is enough - there is quite a bit of space between the inside pipe and the outside screw thread, so that you don't have to be extremely precise in how much of the cable copper you fold over the inside pipe, before you can screw the outside back on: in that sense it is less sensitive than the Blue Jeans Cable banana plugs. - the widest part of the plug is rubber coated, so that there is less risk to cause a short What I didn't like: - The tail end of the plug is so wide that, in order to properly size the insulation right where it leaves the plug, you need to wrap around some extra electrical tape (if possible matching the color of the terminal) , so that the tail end of the cable is not free to move too much in the plug. This makes for some more work, and you must be quite careful in the electrical tape build-up to make it look neat and well finished - since the rubber coating only covers the middle, fattest section, it is still possible to cause a short if you accidentally touch the front or the end of a plug to a nearby plug. On the other hand, the Blue Jeans Cables banana plugs come with heatshrink that covers the whole outside area - it does not feel quite as hefty and well made as the Blue Jeans Cable banana plugs, which are gold-coated solid copper In the end, it is a fair value in my opinion. These banana plugs cost about $1 per piece, when the Blue Jeans Cable banana plugs cost between $2.5 and $4 per piece. They represent good quality at a very fair price. If you want better (and are willing to wait a little longer), you will have to pay 250% to 400% more with the admittedly higher end banana plugs from Blue Jeans Cable. For a permanent, high end, installation, I would still recommend BLue Jean Cable banana plugs, but these are quite decent and will do the job when you need some plugs quickly.

Super bad ass and easy to install
I ended up with two sets and i used these over the other, more expensive plugs. Why these over other brands? 1) gold plated 2) a little fatter, maybe a con for you but better leverage 3) the design of the notched teeth to lock in the wire is superior 4) simple packaging was better for storing the left over pieces. The other brand took considerable force to remove from a plastic block 5) i had left over pieces because these are affordable and come with enough plugs to do all ends at the reciever and my front and left channels (7 total). Ya ya, 7.1 and then atmos is on the way. Why get these at all? 1) Ive been meaning to do this every time i move the reciever but have been to lazy as its an infrequent. In hindsite, my last reciever moved 6 times in 8 years but i ended up completely wireing and unwiring my reciever 5 times this month due to a faulty reciever and i was super happy i made the purchase. The first time you need to unhook your reciever, you will be happy you invested. 2) throw in a couple velcro straps and the wiring install looks clean AF with these bad ass clips

well-designed product
I've been using banana plugs from another popular manufacturer for years, but I've experienced issues with loose connections over the years. Sometimes the wire slips out of the plug, and sometimes the plug slips out of the connector. This is atypical of my experience with products from this other manufacturer, but I finally decided to do some research and see if there was a better product out there. These Mediabridge plugs came highly recommended, so I figured I'd give them a shot. Right off the bat, I have found the design to be much better than that of the plugs I was previously using. There is a nice gap between where you splay the individual copper wires and where you screw the cap on, which makes it easy to have a good wire splay and still get the cap back on. Also, instructions are included with these plugs- more helpful than you might realize, as I had to do some digging to figure out how to use the plugs from the other manufacturer. Finally, these plugs are pretty short, which is useful for wall-mounting purposes. Overall, I think these plugs are very well-designed, and I hope their longevity matches their design.

Sehr wertig
Sehr wertig und robust. Durch das Eigengewicht macht es einen sehr stabilen Eindruck. Kabel sitzen bombenfest, sowohl am Stecker als auch an den Lautsprechern und am Receiver.

Well made and easy to use
I like the way the plug comes apart and then the wire is fed through the middle with the wire strands mushrooming over the middle so the top half can screw down and lock in the wires to make a good contact. Great design and easy to use. Also, having red and black markings makes it easy to identify polarity.
