Erem Weller Erem 776E 4 1/4 Diagonal Tapered Relieved Head Cutter Super Full Flush Cut

I like these cutters but you could buy 10 cheap pairs for the price.Not great value for money but still nice to own.Don't let others use them else you might end up needing to buy more.Definitely don't cut anything too thick else you will ruin the cutting edge or even break the tip of these cutters.

For trimming small wires and so forth. Not for cutting thick stuff. I use these for circuit board delicate work only. Very well made, high quality. Don't loan them or let the kids get them!0

I ordered four of these cutters, and three of them were fine, but the fourth one was defective. By the time I discovered this I was outside the return window.

They cost 10 times more than many competing brands. But when you have to cut close up on a PCB nothing else works like these. Nothing else! They are worth the money! I have had at least one pair of these at my lab bench for years. I keep them locked up at night and hidden during the day. Someone borrowed them from my bench one day when I was distracted and they apparently cut a big wire(18AWG perhaps) and broke the jaws. I could have done bodily harm to them. I immediately req'ed another pair. Just can't do without them.The jaws come to a very small point. The cutting edges go together perfectly aligned. Unlike the less expensive cutters where the jaws tend to flex and snap over each other delivering a poor cut. The fine point allows you to get in between the leads of ICs so you can snip each lead one at a time until it releases from the PCB without damage to the traces. Even fine pitch leads. If you work on PCBs you need a pair of these.

I received the EREM 777E instead of the listed 776E which is very similar except it the 777E is not relieved the same as the EREM 776E. I would have preferred the recessed 776E for getting into tight places. It seems like a good product but I wonder if it's a knockoff since it doesn't have the same deeply engraved legends or the signature red dot as my old pair (about 15 years old). The APEX/EREM site indicates the red dot for both the 776E and 777E cutters. I'll keep it and see how it works for me but am not completely satisfied.

I use this at home to cut my cuticles and trim the ingrown toenails on my big toes. This model is fine, cuts well, but I prefer the Erem 777E
