The Perfect Keychain Knife
At over $70 for such a small blade, I can imagine lot of people would dismiss the Spyderco Manbug with K390 steel as an overpriced novelty item. My response to this claim would be that they have clearly never used the knife. I purchased this knife after trying out the Ladybug, which proved a little too small in the handle for optimal use. The Manbug was released solely to address this limitation, and Spyderco hit a home run by releasing what I consider to be the best keychain knife in existence. This knife is basically a smaller version of the Delica or Dragonfly, with excellent grippy scales, full flat grind, and incredible K390 steel that outclasses most popular high end knife steels used today. This little blade has excellent toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance with very few compromises, and the result is an outstandingly sharp blade that punches far above its 1.95” length. It’s a very small knife, about the length of my pink when closed. I got it specifically for my keychain and keep it attached to a KeySmart MagConnect for easy detachment, and having a razor sharp blade always on you is quite convenient. Aside from heavy duty professional tasks, there should be very little that this small knife cannot do in everyday life. It keeps its sharpness for a long time and Spyderco knives come scary sharp from the factory. If you want the best keychain knife there is, this is it.

Great little knife, good fit, durable and sharp.
I gotta say I am an edc nut and a big knife enthusiast. I will say that this knife is SMALL but mighty! It is such a great knife to throw into your 5th pocket. It’s incredibly durable, fits great and sturdy in your hand. And is a great work horse. The steel is completely stainless but is softer and will scratch and get dull easier, be smart with what you cut. I love this little guy and would definitely recommend. I added a photo next to the Swiss army alox minichamp as a size comparison.

Sharp !!!!
Why 4 stars, not 5? The tip is outrageously sharp and pointy. Sliced my finger upon opening first time. Well-made, but no good reason for the tip to be so sharp. I have since filed the tip, so now the knife is much safer while opening.

Hard and sharp
It's my new prefferred always carry addition, very sharp from the box and it's been a couple of months of cutting random stuff with ease. The downside is the hardness of it, it chips pretty easily so NEVER use it to pry stuff open it might just break in two. It's tiny and unassuming but I figure you could kill a mountain lion if you stab it enough times before it mauls you with it's 10 razor sharp mittens.

Excellent keychain knife
Great sized knife, and still ergonomic for my giant hands. It's a good one to keep on the key ring when you have some more aggressive cutting tasks and you don't want to use your primary knife. Materials, fit and finish excellent as you would expect from Spyderco.

Very small, no clip
This thing is tiny... It's well built but feels dinky. Not really happy but it took so long to get here I'm going to just keep it. Blade is sharp.

Great introduction to the Salt series and serrated edges!
Love this little knife. It’s a comfortable three fingered handle but adding a small para cord toggle on it does give your last finger some place to hang on. The serrrated H1 steel is awesome so far - cuts everything as well as a plain edge. Clearly I haven’t had to sharpen it yet but I’m not worried that this will be too hard. The FRN handles look great in yellow and the bi directional texturing works as well as Spyderco promises. It’s fairly pricey in terms of the size of the knife but it’s fairly specialised and I wanted a knife for humid and wet environments to do hard work. I’m so impressed I think that a Salt 2 May have to join its little brother.

Good but is this a used franken-manbug?!
Well first of all this is a fine brand and a great little knife. I have zero issues with the blade quality or of its craftsmanship. However, the seller needs to explain why the locking mechanism is colored matte black? Is this a variation? Is it used and a replacement locking mechanism put in? I’ve looked everywhere, including the sellers photos to see where it states that the locking mechanism will vary in color. I paid premium price for this knife and I would like to have what I expected and what the seller claimed to be selling.**UPDATE**Ok so I had to do a little research and it looks like there are some H1 blades that treat the steel locking mechanisms so they will not rust. Apparently I got one of those. I’d love to see the item number just so I know exactly which knife I have.
