Review: Best brand out there so far - Popping corn is an art dependant first on the quality of the raw product and the science behind the process. Too little moisture content and the kernel won't pop. Too little starch and the popped kernel won't be as big. My wife and I love popcorn. It's one of those treats that are lower in calories than others and we find that a 1/4 cup of kernels translates to a big tub of popcorn. After popping we sprinkle canderel on it which makes it sweet but slimming. We use the stove top with a large pan and 2 tbsp of corn oil. Lovely taste, quick and easy. Used Tesco East End popcorn in the past but this is better. Good value, ease of use, great taste. I am a skilled electrical mechanical engineer by profession and was an on screen expert for BBC Watchdog and Rogue Traders for some years and subsequently sworn to honesty. I tend to research a product drilling down into the quality and value of the item before I buy. I am not paid for my reviews and have no personal gain from them. I have no difficulty recommending this item. What's not to like. Go buy!
Review: Great value for a healthy & delicious low cost snack. - As a somewhat of a popcorn connoisseur, these popcorn kernels are excellent. Made properly these will produce the fluffy white popcorn that taste delicious as you'd hope. As a former crisp addict, I was on the hunt for a healthier snack to feast on and that's where I found fresh popcorn. Popcorn has a tarnished reputation due to the volume of highly processed popcorn out there that's often loaded with all those 'bad for you' additives that taste great. Popular calorie loaded highstreet brands often cost £1.12/100g, however against these at At £0.22/100g (or £0.20/100g on a subscribe and save) well I suppose the bigger brands can Kist-my-Butter. For those not in the know, popcorn kernels keep indefinitely with the right, airtight storage although still best not try keep for years. With these tasting so good they won't last anywhere near that long though. I typically open these big bags, decant some kernels in to a separate sealed tub to keep at hand and seal the bag with a plastic clip and stick in to storage until needed again. They make great affordable movie snacks or party food just make sure to shake out those I unpopped kernels. Talking of which I've seen the odd review saying there's a fair few unpopped. Typically across all popcorn kernels you will always get some that don't pop. In my experience these are no better or worse than the next brand. The biggest factor when it comes to popping kernels is how you are making the popcorn. Air popping in the microwave is the healthiest/ cheapest option... however I find it always leaves the most unpopped kernels across all brands. I used to make popcorn this way but gave up. If you're making popcorn in a pot, don't put too many kernels in in the first place. As a general rule I only scatter/ make sure to cover about 75% of the base of the pot with a single layer of kernels to make a full pot. Of course this will depend on the pots but I've use various over the years and this seems to work. Too many kernels will always result in many more seeds and partially popped corn. For anyone interested here's how I make mine, effortlessly, cheap, delicious and relatively healthy. Pan out and stick a dollop of virgin olive oil in the base adding enough kernels to cover 75% of the pan base at one layer thick cover on (glass works the best so you can see). Increase the hob to full, periodically swishing the kernels/ oil around coating them as they go. For sweet get some natural sweetener at the ready (i.e. Erythritol, Stevia etc) You can buy natural sweetener in granules or even just the table form will do (the kind you put in tea/coffee). Keep swishing and as soon as you hear the first 'pop', lift the lid and fire that sweeter in to the pan. It's up to you how much/ how sweet but for an average soup pot I use two tablets.. Let the popcorn pop away shaking it periodically and dialing down the heat as the popping slows. Launch in to a bowl and that's you.. sweet popcorn. Salt and Sweet? Once popped sprinkle with a dash of low salt and shake. Salt and Vinegar?... Wait until popped add low salt and vinegar and shake. That's it! Now you're cooking! Hope This Helps :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tastes great
*by A***2 on 28 January 2026*

Not sure if it’s the popcorn machine or the kernels but there’s always a lot unpopped. I’m going to reduce the amount and see if it helps but I’m concerned about how much this wastes. The popped corn is great and it’s my hack for trying to stop snacking on negative type foods. Will report back but I’m pleased with the taste and texture.
