So much more stable than expected
I purchased this for use on a canoe instead of a kayak. We have a 14-ft Old Town canoe and two 5yr olds who we are just now introducing to boating. They were VERY unsure and uncomfortable with the rolling action on the canoe in our first trial a week ago, so I thought that this would be worth trying out.Our canoe is 36-in wide, so the setup is a little different in that the arms can not detach as they would on a narrower kayak (the center pipe is inside both gunnel mounts, which in this use are mounted to the two outside pipes... which means that once installed, it stays (or you have to unscrew the mount tops for each use). The floats still detach as per usual so that's not a big issue for us. I'll leave it on for the summer and pull it during the winters. I also had to get new mounting bolts as the 1.5in ones supplied were too short to go through the gunnels - $12 got me stainless hardware in 3in sizes and solved that issue.I thought the stability would be akin to training wheels on a bike - normal in the middle and then a bit of a lean-stop-lean-stop when you heeled over a little. To our surprise the experience was just about like a normal paddle trip but with AMAZING stability. You can still Ean a bit before the floats really dig in, but in normal use they just glide in the top inch or less of water (after some adjusting - roll the bar so that the curved ends lift or lower the stabilizers until your depth is set and then tighten). I installed mine 4-inches behind the center seat so there was a little adjusting my stroke to not bump the floats, but it does make a nice backrest/stop for the seat and is worth the effort.I'm pretty amazed at how well these work - we'll see how they hold up over time. The floats are pretty heavy duty material but I'm still expecting that they'll eventually wear out. Ours came with a half dozen patches but no cement - so more patches than expected but it would have been nice to be a kit. Otherwise no complaints - these are great! We spent over an hour on the water and never herd the boys worry about the movement once.

They definitely work
I put these on my 10ft fishing kayak and they allow my to stand up in confidence. They also add more buoyancy to my boat which was a concern of mine since I added a heavy battery and trolling motor. What I don’t like about these is they are ridiculously priced. If you have the time you could probably make some thing just as effective if not more with maybe $50 worth of material. I also worry about if the material of this product will hold up. If you come across the wrong log who’s to say it won’t tear a hole through one of these. They do blow up and deflate easily and the material feels sturdy enough but I think only time will tell for this one.CAUTION: I’ve done many mods to kayaks and I will say that wellnuts are not my favorite. Be very careful when installing these. You want to make as precise holes as possible, fit all the pieces together, mark your holes, drill a small hole in the center of your mark, then follow through with exactly a 3/8inch bit. I’d practice on a scrap piece of plastic before you ruin your kayak. Also don’t over tighten the well nuts, you could end up releasing the bulge holding it to the kayak.

Awesome stability
I'm 275lbs 6ft tall . I don't feel like I will tip at all . I love these stabilizers. They are easy to install and I like how they detach. Very sturdy and keeps a kayak stable.

Not the same as pictured.
The media could not be loaded. It appears that the vendor has changed the product recently but haven’t updated their images or description. The cross bar and supports are fundamentally different than what is pictured. They now only rely on two screws versus four through hull mounts pictured. These won’t hold during rough water conditions like the ones pictured will.I’m addition the new one can’t be easily removed and reattached while on the water and instead must be attached while on land with tools. This prevents it from being useful for people using this for ocean going kayaking. In short, it’s very different then the pictures and description.

AWSOME stabilizers
I love these stabilizers. Easy to install. The 3 piece crossbar allows me to remove or attach stabilizers without tools. Center bar stays attached out of the way, readily available when clipping on outriggers. Not only that......BUT...........these turn my 24 inch wide kayak into a unbelievable stable boat. I can literally put my 220 lbs on one side without jeopardizing stability.

Better than hobie
Love the thickness and size. These are about 40% larger than the hobie brand and the actual thickness of material is thicker. Awesome product 1000xs recommend

WARNING! Cannot install this product
What I was shipped in my box was similar to what another reviewer has posted in a video. It is NOT what is pictured. You cannot secure this to a kayak with what was given. DO NOT purchase! This is a Chinese bait and switch product

Ease of mounting
Have not used yet as our lakes are still frozen. But the construction of the pieces is good.
