So far, so good!
I've only had this for a short time, but it's working well. Easy to set up. I wish I could get it to open later in the AM, but I can only do that by then getting it to close later in the evening. Either way, it still opens and closes when the raccoons are out so I need to keep the birds behind an electric fence until they can free range when it's lighter out. It's great to know I don't have to be home at a certain time to make sure they're shut in. The string to open and close the door seems very delicate so I'm not sure how long it will hold up. I have my system on the outside of the coop because my geese will pull it off otherwise so it's outside in the elements, but the company states it will work fine. On that note, my geese do fit in this door and will use it along with the ducks which I wasn't sure if it would be too small. I'll provide an update after I've had this a few months.

LOVE it!
Absolutely worth the cost! Unit has worked flawlessly since I installed it. The flock (chickens and ducks) adapted so quickly to their new routine and the door closes about 15 minutes after their put themselves to sleep in the coop. After the first 2-3 nights of learning their new routine, no one has been 'locked out'. No more racing home at dusk to close them up properly. Highly recommend! Also recommend the extra long light sensor cord!

It works and was easy to install
As a slightly handy stay at mom, I was able to install and adjust very quickly on my own, within about 45 minutes. I put it inside my coop because my pop door interfered on the outside. I have a small gap at the bottom because of the way my coop is, but it works and I have a second door for the coop run that we usually close on our own if we've been letting the birds free range. It was closing a little early, it's preset on the most conservative setting. It was easy to adjust. Even in the dim lighting of my coop, it is very reliable to close at dusk, and it drops very slowly to give the birds warning to scurry in. I am very happy with this purchase. I will buy a second one for my new coop.

possible light sensor failure at sub-zero ambient temperature
I have two(2) of these units, The door worked fine in normal weather, But when the temperature dropped down this winter both units quit working on the same day, i have replaced batteries to no avail, the units will work for a couple seconds if you keep giving a light pull on the cable but immedeiately quit working. I think it is involving the light Sensor circuit or the pause circuit.Door #1 is on the outside of chicken cage and operates the cage that opens for free ranging. Door # 2 is mounted near the peak of the roof nothing is identical in the way set-up installed except for the Ambient temperature which was exact.I am an electronic technician and will be troubleshooting it afteri can install another type of automatic door.

Great motor / sensor. Careless mount instructions.
The motor / sensor assembly is superb, and well engineered. The instructions on how to mount the rails are simply erroneous. The included instructions I received stated 12" between the bottom holes. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. This was too wide. This can give you a bit of a headache, because it is not simple to place another hole right next to the hole you just drilled in your coop.I also find it peculiar that they include a very cheap paperclip to attach the string to the door. I don't trust this paperclip at all. I really find it odd because when I ordered the repair kit to replace the string that broke on another door opener and the clip that came with the repair kit is much higher quality. (That further reminds me, why was the string on the first door opener so poor quality compared to the string in the repair kit?)

Not worth the money!
I haven’t even gotten to use it and it’s dead!! New batteries and box to test it as the instructions say and NOTHING!! Waste of money.

Convenient Flock Protection
Prior to purchasing this door, we were locking the coop door every night, and unlocking it every morning. We live on some property, and the coop is some distance from our house, so this was a bit of a hassle. But now, this door does it all for us. And it works great. Easy to install, detailed instructions. The door closes slowly. There is a light sensor adjustment if one wants to have the door open with more/less light. We bought the light sensor attachment due to the construction of our coop. Everything works perfectly, and our flock is much less of a hassle now.

Nice unit works good price point high and battery operate kind of stinks.
Works well but price point is way high for what you get. Granted I wish I had invented it and was gettitng $250 a pop. Works great I just hope the battery lasts a long time. Wish it was AC rather than battery operated...
