Not just for fish tanks !!! Great odor remover !
I've never used this for fish tanks but I've used a ton of it for removing odors from leather everything...My best success story yet is the restoration of a pair of over the knee western boots that reeked of Evening In Paris perfume and cigarette smoke...UGH..ya, I know, right? A friend who owns a thrift shop, gifted these to me because they reeked so bad, she couldn't put them up for sale. They were gorgeous and like new, except for the fact that they stunk like a French Hoor House. I told her I'd give it my all and I did. Took them home and stuck a carbon bag in the foot and the shaft area of both boots. Then I put each boot inside of a garbage bag and knotted the top tightly, then put the boots in one of those under the bed plastic storage boxes. Once a month I opened the box, replaced the carbon bags and the garbage bags, and the old carbon bags reeked so I knew they were working. I did this for close to a year and the last time I opened the box....no odor. I smelled inside the boots, outside the boots, NO ODOR. I started wearing the boots in the spring, no odor. I've been wearing them ever since and the odor has never come back, even in the summer. These boots were Stetsons and retailed for $500.00 so ,for the little I invested in saving them, paid off in a big way. I used to buy my carbon from the pet store but it was expensive. When I saw this product on Amazon I thought I'd give it a try. Don't shy away from it because it's less expensive. I can tell you, it's good quality at a reasonable price. I've had great luck getting odors out of handbags, jackets and even my mom's fur coat. Just remember not to let the carbon bag rub on whatever you're trying to get the odor out of. It is carbon and there is dust and that dust will get on the inside lining of a handbag for example. Set the bag on top of a paper towel and if it does transfer, use a vacum cleaner instead of trying to get it off with a wet paper towel or you'll really have a mess. I'm so glad I tried this brand....super economical and it works just as well if not better than the more expensive stuff out there.

The best deal I have found!
Listen, it’s gonna be hard to find a better deal than this on activated carbon bags. You get (3) nice size bags in each box. I use these in my massive canister filter. I just ordered 2 boxes which gave me 6 bags, which is way more that what my 2 and a half foot tall canister filter would need. I just laid 4 bags out in an even layer inside. Perfect! You would have to be a fool to not jump on this. Those of us that take our aquariums seriously, but don’t own 20 aquariums to be buying in bulk supplies, need this kind of deal. I’m running a 50 gallon (classic geometry) hardscape rivers edge design with a live planted jungle appearance. 1/3rd of the tank is constantly raining. Water depth runs 3 inches at its most shallow, to 9 inches at it deepest point. Tank equipped with a fogger to set a slight fog slowly across the water. I would say Its a (Riparium/Paludarium) hybrid, as it’s around a 50/50 water to land ratio. A perfect set up for my baby alligator snapping turtle. He likes to hide just below the surface in a dark hiding place. Yes, I could have left all of this info out, but then you would wonder if this dude really knows anything about aquariums, or if he just has a goldfish slowly dying in a fish bowl. So I’m always looking for great deals on aquarium needs and supplies. I couldn’t believe the price on most brands for activated carbon. Finding these AquaClear carbon bags at this price was exactly what I needed. I would at least suggest you trying these out, and I hope this long winded review helps some of you out.

Great price, fast clearing of tank and little charcoal dust.
I always rinse these first. Many brands take several minutes getting the charcoal dust rinsed out, this had virtually not dust. After placing it in my tank, I checked back an hour later and I could clearly see the difference. Water was clearer.I’ve bought these before & willbuy again. Everything is there: bag & charcoal. Good price too.

Cheap
I like the fact that it is cheap but it also lasts longer than my other filter cartridges that I’ve used plus it’s affordable

It fits
It fits the Aqua clear 70. Not much else to say other than if you want to save money just buy a generic foam aquarium pad and cut to fit. For me, the convenience at this price makes it worth buying over cutting pads.
