Update: the grey plush cover isn’t the best choice for dogs who shed a lot of hair. It really does cling onto the hairs and even tumble drying (be aware that it is labelled as not to be tumbled dried! If you dry for too long it shrinks- which is why they say not to tumble it) doesn’t remove the hairs. Best bet is to shake out as much as you can it sticky roll it. Would advise one of the other types of covers for big shedders. Would really love a more attractive cover for this bed instead of grey.We’ve just moved into a new house with a very hard (and rather ugly) flagstone floor. The dog’s normal folded over single duvet wasn’t cutting it and he was getting sore elbows. He is a 9 year old German Shepherd, 45-50kg and 110cm from nose to butt. I wanted to get him the XXL but was vetoed and we got the XL in the end.The bed does come squashed up and it takes a few hours to expand properly. It filled the cover really well. I can only imagine that those who posted negative comments didn’t realise that the mattress hadn’t expanded yet as it does fill out to be very thick and supportive. I chose the soft cover because I thought it would look nicer than the waterproof. It’s just as it looks in the pictures. Haven’t washed it yet but presume it will wash and dry fine.The bed is the right size- he’s a really big dog and unless you have something like a Great Dane or St Bernard the XL would be fine for most large breed dogs.It’s very firm and supportive. You can see on the pics I’ve attached that even as a big heavy dog the mattress is supporting him really well.Overall I’m really pleased with the bed, the dog loves it and the cat will be on it as well within a week I imagine!I was hesitant about spending so much on a dog bed without seeing it but needn’t have been. It is the best quality dog bed I’ve seen and whilst it’s a lot of money I know that my dog is comfortable and his old bones are well supported and off the cold hard floor.My only request would be for more choices in soft covers. I would love some other colours or maybe some stylish patterns like thin pale pinstripes or little stars.

Was considering getting this bed for a long time then finally ordered it I’m so pleased with it , it come rolled up vacuum packed but as soon as opened it started to expand its 15cm thick and it didn’t take long to reach its full thickness within 2 hours it reached its full thickness the quality is fantastic , as stated other Byers said it didn’t expand to its full size but I’ve not had this issue .. my GSD is 12 this year and was struggling to get out of his old bed but he’s had no issues getting up from this bed it’s expensive but so worth it for my boy to be comfortable .. I bought the XX large my boy is 40kg but I wanted him to be able to lay fully out on this bed and he can comfortably instead of being curled up in his previous bed .. Not stripped the bed yet to wash it as only just got it but I don’t think there will be issues when it’s comes to washing it , it does state not to tumble dry the cover but maybe it would be ok on a low setting I would highly recommend this bed for any dog but especially large breeds … Edit .. I’ve taken the cover off now and washed it it’s really really easy to take off and put back on it washes well on a 30d wash I also put in the dryer on a low heat setting and it’s never shrunk and takes not even 10 mins to dry in the dryer the cover is very head wearing too

Before it was ripped up by our new dog years later, it was brilliant.Extremely soft, comfortable, supportive and a nice big size.I would highly recommend

I bought this for my aging sable shepherd. She absolutely loves the comfort of it, particularly the head rest. She prefers to sleep with her head elevated. The bed is robust (she’s a large dog), I vacuum up the hair easily and wash it. Lightweight for indoor and outdoor use. I found it pricey BUT that said it’s lasted. I’ve not had to replace it.We recently rehomed a rescue dog. I bought him a slightly cheaper bed since he is a puppy and chewing at everything. That bed lasted two seconds. He prefers this bed and has not chewed at it once - probably because it gives him so much comfort. Comfort and rest is important given he is a puppy, a very large breed and the trauma of kennels and rehoming. He loves it. Takes every opportunity to steal use of it!And when both dogs are outside, honestly, the kitten pinches it!! And SHE has her own bed too.So there really must be something particular about this bed. It really has paid for itself as far as I am concerned. I have just ordered another. I attach a photo of my puppy on it to give you an idea of the comfort it brings.I bought the XL. My sable shepherd is 35 kg and perfectly fits with a little wiggle room. My puppy is 30kg and fits the XL for now - if you needed guidance on sizes. The kitten is 2kg and so…. 😄 I ummed and arrred at the price but actually it’s worth it totally. Or maybe the price is fine for others anyway. Hope this helps x

This is a very comfortable bed with a raised head rest. I have also bought the same bed with sides and replacement covers for upstairs. These are for my one year old dog. I had two of these beds previously for my elderly dog and just bought new covers when they looked shabby.

excellent product we have a large english bull mastiff and he loves the bed uses the raised pillow and is like a teenager now as lays in late in the mornings .

Great bed for dogs or cats.Bought this bed for my dog, but my cat also likes it.Seems like the embedded pillow is a hit and gives the right amount of comfort.Good for different floor types and will keep your pets warm.I must admit it is also an easy clean.Definitely worth the buy if you just want to keep it no frills.

See comment above. Very expensive bed and dog will not get on it. The foam insert mattress is too hard and now I have this enormous, expensive dog bed that my 97 pound Golden will not lay on.

This is the second order that was delivered. The first order the bed came with the zipper broken off and no instructions. Since there was no way to unzip it the bed never filled out in the bed cover.Second time around I was able to unzip both the covers and timed it to see how long the mattress would sponge out. 6 hours later and it finally reached its max. The picture shows that It still didn’t completely fill out the cover to where it’s nice and snug. Hope this helps any future purchasers because it does not state the process.You can’t just pull it out of the box and it’s nap time for the good boys and girls.
