The BEST type of jewelry cleaning cloth!
I own a LOT of silver jewelry (some gold) and I'm very careful of taking good care of my jewelry--it's expensive, after all. Although a lot of silver jewelry today is rhodium-plated to resist tarnishing, it still needs to be cleaned now and then. I do use a commercial liquid silver jewelry cleaner, but it is NOT appropriate for many items. Oxidized silver (vintage-look and many artisan-type pieces) should never be dipped in harsh silver cleaner. Likewise, many gemstones are soft and porous and will lose their luster if exposed to the acids in silver-cleaner: turquoise, pearls, opals, malachite, lapis, etc.) Sometimes a jeweler can restore the shine in these gems, but not always. Silver chains are rarely rhodium plated and will have to be cleaned. Naturally, I've spent a lot of time cleaning and polishing silver over the years, and I've tried everything. This is by far the BEST type of polishing cloth for all your jewelry. The dark red cloth is impregnated with jewelers rouge (and who knows what else?) and really gets the tarnish and grime off. The yellow side removes the jewelers rouge and completes the polishing process. I have found that, with a little rubbing, the red side will even polish out tiny scratches and dings in your piece. Works on watches too, as I understand. DON'T waste money on the microfiber jewelry cloths--they do nothing except perhaps remove fingerprints from diamonds and colored gemstones. (Most well-made jewelry can be effectively cleaned by soaking in a cup of warm to hot water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid, rinsed and dried thoroughly; if needed, brush gently with a soft toothbrush in the soap/water mixture. In a pinch, silver jewelry can be rubbed with ordinary toothpaste, then rinsed and dried. THIS IS A GREAT STOCKING STUFFER FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES JEWELRY (like me!)

No more jewelers to polish my rings!
I just had a ring made and instead of it being polished gold like I wanted, it was matte. I was going to bring the ring to a jeweler to polish it but saw this product. The cloth is amazing. The jewelers rouge works so well! I now have the polished ring that I was looking for. It also worked well on another ring to get rid of every day wear and tear scratches. It is messy but I just saved a lot of money by not having to go to the jewelers so I donโt mind!

This is TRULY the GOAT of Rouge Cloths
In February, I bought a new one of these, plus some other branded ones that look like this one. I've since worked with all of them, and man, the differences are dramatic. The others do a poor job in comparison. This product is as established and vintage as the lettering on it implies. I fished around with the help of Google, and found a fella who said that he used Fabuluster in the 1960s, and my husband said his family used these in the 70s and 80s. Anyway. Things to keep in mind: 1) you work with the red cloth first, and a new cloth set is loaded with the rouge compound. Your hands will absolutely get red and anything immediately near by might get red, so wear gloves and don't do this on a chair, etc. that you don't want to possibly get stained. After you use it the first time, you'll know more what to expect. 2) after doing the first polish of your item with the rouge red part, buff it up with the outer, yellow cloth and see all the dirt/tarnish that comes off. My favorite things to clean are necklaces. Passing the chains through and seeing stripe after stripe of tarnish that are left behind on the yellow is really satisfying. :) 3) They really do last a long time - even after it's safe to use it without gloves, because the rouge no longer falls freely from the red section. The red falling all over will calm down after numerous uses. It will still work well. I had mine for years and bought a new one as noted. And I still use the old one, but when I have a special piece or a really tarnished piece, I crack out that new one, and some gloves. I HIGHLY recommend you get this wonderful tool.

Very effective
Just like the old Cadie cloth I had as a teen. Wear gloves, as the rouge comes off on everything. Very effective for jewelry and military brass pins etc.

Does a great job but wear gloves
This polishing cloth works quickly and does a fantastic job. I've had three other brands and this does the best polishing job I've seen. I removed one star from my review because it leaves a red residue on everything. It had a red powder on it that poofed into the air when I opened the bag, it stained my hands red and discolored the white leather couch I was on. My hands got clean after some warm-water and soap scrubbing and the couch cleaned up with a damp cloth. Next time I will wear gloves.

A gold standard in Rouge cloths
Excellent Jewelers Rouge cloth. Extremely well impregnated so messy to use but thatโs how rough cloths are. This one is excellent. Recommend.

Trabaja excelente

Genuine product with jewellery rouge on one cloth. Great for polishing to remove tarnish from jewellery pieces and bringing back the shine of the metals.

The very best polishing cloth.
Best polishing cloth on the market. I used my other until it was shredding and it still did the job. Worth the money.

Good, but be cautious
Cloth is exactly as advertised. I've used it to fix up some watch cases. Great results, but, the red polishing compound comes off the cloth and makes a mess of the surrounding area. Caution is required.
