haakaa Baby Nail Trimmer Electric, Gentle Nail File for Newborns & Infants

I bought this electric nail file and Im so happy I did. I kind of thought this was maybe a little "extra", but since having a baby who's nails grow super fast and are sharp like falcon talons, this made a lot more sense. Also my baby is super wiggly, so it's hard to position a regular nail file just perfectly too. This solved all my nail trimming problems! I like that there are different pads/ files for each age. The pads are super soft and dont hurt my baby, yet somehow does a really good job of filing down the nails. There is even a pad for adults. Also there is a light that helps with seeing if you have a dark house like I do. And it doesnt take a very long time to do! Highly highly recommend!

Love it. Easy to use. I have been using it on my baby girl since she was born. Now that she is 3 I just buy the replacement for 12+ months. I like it so much I purchased a second set and kept the first one for myself.

For the most part this has been great. I really wish the pads lasted longer but it seems like they're only durable enough for the stage your baby goes through then they're done so you'll need to buy replacements for the next one or if you trim their nails frequently. I feel like the light is in a bad placement because it doesn't really do much either.

Please don't bother getting little nail clippers, I cringe just thinking about trying to get that to work. This was so easy and I love the different filing pads for different ages. It worked amazing, and she didn't mind it at all for the longest time (she hates it now but that's because she's a year old now). I wish the extra pads would come in smaller packs though. I really only needed one extra pad for one of the sizes but they come in packs of like four which is a ton. I don't think I've ever had to replace the battery in the first year, and I love the color and kit it comes in. Good use of money, works really well on the little nails.

Perfect and safe especially for newborns. My newborns nails got long and he was constantly scratching himself, and I was afraid to use the standard nail clippers as he obviously has such tiny fingers. After some research, I'm glad I purchased this product. Super easy to use and super safe. I use it while my son is asleep and not moving much, as when he is awake, he is super active. He doesn't even flinch through the entire process. I absolute love it and recommend it to all new parents. It also comes with different filers for different ages, and can be used even as they get older! Really love it!

I’m a first time mom, and after about 2-3 weeks of using a manual baby file on my newborn’s nails I was already over it. It just took too much time and just wasn’t very effective. I purchased this and did the same task in a fraction of the time, and was much more effective at getting the mail filed down. The pink disc for newborns is extremely gentle even on their skin around their fingernails. The machine itself is also very gentle- if you apply very much pressure it shuts off. On occasion it does snag the nail, but if I turn the rotation the other way it fixes it- it doesn’t hurt baby but it scares me a little when it does this. It’s super quiet and I actually find that it’s easiest to do when my babe is asleep so she isn’t squirming! I appreciate that it has a nice case to keep all of the files in one place, but wish they snapped in as they fall out of their designated hole inside the case if shook around too much. All in all I absolutely love this and definitely recommend it! *UPDATED REVIEW:7/15, I now have a 5 month old and I’m still using this. We are now on the green pad. While it does still work- as the nail gets stronger and thicker, the tougher it is to file the nail down. To have enough power to actually get it, you have to have relatively fresh batteries in it, or it just keeps stopping and not strong enough. I still recommend this, and it’s perfect for newborns and young infants, but my now 5 month old is starting to push the limits of its power. I’m guessing we will have to find another option within a couple months.
