Great but 1 detail
OK so, install? Super Easy. UI/Responsiveness? Flawless. Works with OEM controls? Yes. Would recommend? Yes.However my one issue I couldn't resolve is no audio, with this system you are given 3 options for output audio and one of them is using the optional usb to usb port connection for audio. Which I had to do because the wireless option and then ground option was not functioning for me. Do I want one of my usb ports inside the console being used by the system? No. Is it hidden though? Yes. Hence why I rated 5 stars, it works great and does what it's supposed to and you can't beat the price point. And I'm sure I can resolve my issue with the tech support they offer but I'm to lazy to even raise the issue tbh lol.

Do not recommend!
***do not recommend**** works great for a month then slowly starts to glitch-out. I can no longer navigate using the console wheel—can only navigate on the phone. Screen goes completely dark after three hours or if you make the unit work too hard (lots of interaction). Phone call can’t be answered by the console controls; and when you answer on the phone, callers say it echoes. And if you engage the backup camera too quickly after starting the car, the screen goes dark also.

Easy to Install adds Carplay to GLC 300
Original ReviewWanted to add carplay to 2016 GLC 300. Went with the roadtop unit vs getting a new android screen as I was not sure if that screen would handle the phoenix heat in the summer. I was able to install this unit in 30 minutes after watching the install video on youtube. I needed a T20 adapater and drill to make a hole to get the usb cable to the armrest area.I was able to remove the console and have somebody hold it while i removed the radio and connect adapters and run the usb cable. The system works as advertised. Wireless carplay does work and sometime need to do a few step to get the audio working but sometimes it comes right in. Depends on the music app that i am using. So sometimes i need to change channels to get the sound to work.Having carplay on the orginal screen looks really good and really feels like a major upgrade to the car. Yes the touchscreen is not available but using the knob is easy to get use to. I only had this for a few weeks but so far so good.

Carplay and Android Auto for cheap money!
Like all other reviewers, I bought this because Mercedes did not install a touchscreen as standard equipment. I wanted to use the GPS from my phone but did not like the phone hanging from the dash. I also use Spotify and while everything I needed to do work well but was less than elegant. I was skeptical of the installation but figured it is not a new car so I figured I would try it. Videos online showed it looked easy enough but historically these easy looking tasks don't work out so well for me. I got the kit in a day and broke out my installation tools (picks, soft pry tools and my torx drivers) and within 2 minutes I had the console lifted and removed to the side. It is one snap panel that snaps off with the pry tool and 2 torx T20 screws. The console lifts from the back towards the dash and is held at the dash with 2 hooks. Two more T20 screws held the head unit in the dash on its bracket. There is one large connector that clips in the head unit that comes out and it then connected to the kit harness then the kit harness plugs back into the head unit. As others mentioned, check to see if there are 2 optic cables on this OEM connector. I did and just moved them over to the kit harness. Before reconnecting I needed to connect the new blue optic video cable to the head unit and screen. This is a T cable. looping the screen to the kit module then to the head unit. Be sure to connect the t junction to the kit module and not the head unit. This is the only part that can be connected wrong. No damage can happen if it is connected wrong, it just will not work. I connected the second wire harness at the kit module but it was not needed for my car. It was just for external camera and audio or video sources. My OEM cameras are all connected through the main harness. I taped down the included wifi/bluetooth antenna in the console void. I did need to drill a hole to run a USB cable from the console storage box to connect my phone via cable. I used this only once for setup. This USB will also allow for charging the phone. I now set the DIP switches on the module as per instructions for my screen. I now checked all connections (all 3 of them) and turned on the system. Within a few minutes my android phone opened the app and I connected to the head unit for setup via cable. I was then able to setup the phone to connect to the screen to connect via wifi and bluetooth. I had my waze map and Spotify on the screen, I had no sensor warnings and sound was as normal. I tucked the module and new harness away in the console (there is plenty of space) and just reversed the console installation. The installation took about an hour because I stopped for a beer. I need to navigate with the wheel on the console but it is fine. It works just as I hoped it would and I would do it again without a second thought.

Works flawlessly for Android auto as well as Apple carplay (both wirelsselsy)
Easy to install however make a note to detach the fiber optic cable from original power cable to new power cable, otherwise you won't have audio working (even with mercedes own radio, cd , usb songs etc ).These instructions of the attaching fiber optic cable from original factory power cable bundle to new , this kit provided bundle are not very clear (or rather easy to understand ), but once you figure that out, it's piece of cake.

Stop produce sound in 2 weeks and won't turn on
At first everything was working fine sound was a little off but not enough to bug me so I left if alone. Now two weeks later it doesn't turn on or produce sound, all it does is this annoying clicking sound. I would not recommend this product to anyone ,I would look elsewhere.

Great value/price
Great for DIY, some lagg audio, hard use because of the non touchscreen of the car, still recommend instead of the oem
