A Bear Called Paddington: A Heartwarming Tale of an Extraordinary Bear

My kindergartener loved this book! We finished it in a couple of days because he kept begging me to read, "just one more chapter." The personification of the stuffed bear is very reminiscint of Winnie The Pooh. He is also a very silly bear, like Pooh, who makes lots of laughable mistakes. If you're looking for a light, silly read aloud, pick up this book!

I’ve loved Paddington since I was a little girl but hadn’t read this book in ages. It was a perfect way to end 2024 remembering my love for childhood things during the Christmas season. It’s such a great book for kids of all ages to read.

A British classic that everyone should read! This hardcover version is a great quality item that would make a perfect gift!

So I have just finished reading about the adventures of an adorable young bear from Darkest Peru, who fortunately for both the Brown family and the young bear in question was led by the mysterious hands of Providence, or Serendipity if you will, to be at Paddington Train Station at just the right time on just the right day in order to meet and be taken in by the luckiest family in England. Anyway through a series of (mis) advetures we get to know this adorable young fellow and of course we can't avoid falling in love with him. He makes us laugh, he makes us cry. At times we worry ourselves sick over the poor little thing but we know by book's end that this bear came to London for a reason so therefore nothing bad will ever befall the fuzzball. And so I hereby award this book four stars out of five. Since the other books in the series are sure to be better I have to leave myself some room for higher grade points. BFN Greggorio!

I grew up reading the Paddington Bear stories geared towards younger children and had no clue that a junior novel existed. Seeing the movie sparked my interest again in Paddington and I discovered this book. Although this novel does not contain the delightful watercolor drawings, I highly enjoyed reading the unabridged version of Paddington's story. I would recommend this novel to older children and adults. For younger children there is the book Paddington that has the delightful watercolor drawings. This book is a great way to introduce young children to Paddington. Paddington Bear stories are classics and all children should have the chance to know Paddington. The stories are delightful and children will enjoy Paddington's antics. Please note that the movie plot is different from the book. I would recommend having your children read the first Paddington Bear story before they see the movie. I am so glad that Paddington's stories are being republished. I cannot wait to receive the next story in the series, More About Paddington.

Lovely book gave as a shower gift for my niece along with a stuffed Paddington bear. She loved them

I 1st met Paddington in the early 70s while I was in college. From the moment I began reading this book I was enamored with Paddington, the Brown family, Mr Curry, Mr Gruber & the rest of the characters in the series of these books. I eventually bought every book published including "Love from Paddington." I am in the process of col!eating them again as I lost the whole collection, a small Paddington bear & 5' tall bear that my husband bought for me knowing I was such a fan. I loved the illustrations then & still love them now. I have watched every episode of the the TV series & was very happy to see that a new movie about Paddington that came out a few years ago & am looking forward to seeing the 2nd movie when it come on the TV. To say the least that I loved them is an understatement.

An amazing story for kids 4 years and up. I have read it for my child 4 times so far and we do not seem to get enough of it.

O livro é uma graça, ótimo para crianças que estejam aprendendo o inglês (ou adultos que sejam fãs do Paddington também). Não tem muitas ilustrações, mas a história é cativante. Minha única decepção é com a qualidade do papel. Decidi comprar o livro no original em inglês porque achei que faria sentido — afinal, é uma história tradicionalmente britânica —, mas essa edição é americana, e sempre naquele papel meio jornalesco usado frequentemente nos paperbacks. Nada que atrapalhe a leitura, mas sempre me esqueço que o bom papel que usamos nos livros brasileiros não é padrão no exterior.
