Why on earth would you read in German? Even Mark Twain said, “When a German dives into a sentence, you won’t see him again until he emerges at the other end with the verb between his teeth.” So, isn’t reading German just frustrating and tiring, making you want to rip the pages out of the book?! Well, it doesn’t have to be. This is where books like the Einfach Deutsch lesen series come in, which prove that reading can boost your language knowledge and be enjoyable at the same time. What is our motto? Plot and characters always come first. Offering stories the room they need to evolve is paramount to creating depth and to breathing life into the characters. Vocabulary and grammar are then adapted to the level indicated on the book cover. These levels are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Familiar vocabulary is reinforced and new words are gradually introduced in context, without causing the reader frustration. What can you await from the Einfach Deutsch lesen series? You can expect: engaging stories with twists and turns that will keep your attention until the very last page three-dimensional characters you can laugh and cry with (mostly laugh with, though) realistic and authentic dialogues reinforcement of vocabulary through subtle repetition, while allowing you to pick up new words as you go along, in stories that are written entirely in German German-English translation of new and important words at the end of each chapter or, in the more recent books, at the bottom of the page free downloadable vocabulary, comprehension and grammar exercises (with solutions), which can also be used as teaching material in classrooms lots of giggles and heaps of fun – most importantly! Review: Great DaF read- lot's of fun! - This is yet another great book fun by Angelika Bohn. I think is is my favorite. Funny and fast in the way the story progrsses. I (native German) am reading this (as our 6th book :) with a group of German learners who are pretty advanced in reading and conversing and this one is the most fun to all of us. It is easy but challenging enough for level A1 and possibly A2. However, we suggest you read and listen to them all; the best for DaF (young) adults sure - there is nothing like this out there that doesn't feel to easy, too hard or even 'recycled' in terms of topics. Great author who understands what is needed! Review: Learning German the fun way - This is a great book if you are learning German. The author uses funny situations in her stories, and once you start reading you cannot stop. She uses simple words and every day expressions used by native speakers. She makes German language real fun to learn. I totally recommend her books.

Easy and Fun to Read
This book is great for beginners. The story is a little ridiculous but it also so hilarious! It was fun to read which made it easy to keep reading. Additionally, the language is at a suitable level for relatively new learners. I think if you’ve really just gotten past the basics this book will challenge you at an appropriate level and really better your reading skills. Again, it’s so enjoyable and funny!

Great read
This was _a lot_ of fun to read. For a beginner's book, the storytelling was rich and the humor was smooth. Sometimes when you're reading a book for German learners, the writer loses the natural flow language to stay comprehensible or recycle language. I get the need, but it can feel stilted once you're no longer a true beginner. Right away, the world of this story felt fuller, more real than what I was used to. It still does what you need in terms of sheltering vocabulary and recycling forms, but it's done seamlessly. And it's just plain funny. The parade of comic adventures marches with wacky momentum all the way through. When Finn "rollt mit dem Augen" you really get why. Angelika Bohn is a talented story teller, and I can't wait to read her next book.

Funny and interesting Plot!
I enjoyed the plot twists as Finn works to find the missing Päckchen. Great practice with seperable prefix verbs. Overall, a fun German Geschichte.

This is awesome!
This is really well done. It's funny; it's well crafted. And the language was at a perfect level for someone like me who is around an A1 I think. It's Compelling Comprehensible Input at its finest. I couldn't wait to read and listen to each chapter. With 3.5 hours of audio, it's great value for your money as well.

Perfect at graded levels
The author is careful to use vocabulary that is appropriate to the language proficiency level marked on the bookl. Her stories are clever and engaging. I found them easy to read yet challenging enough to keep me at the upper edge of my abilities. Each book builds on the others in the series in terms of vocabulary and usage. I've tried a lot of different easy German readers and this one is at the upper end of the five star rating for English speakers.

Great book to make learning German at the beginning levels more interesting
Repeatedly seeing German words and grammar is important to remember vocabulary, but flashcards are oh so boring and a lot of A1 material reads like it's meant for small children. This is a great book for all ages, has humour, suspense, and if you live in Germany and have to deal with your packages being delivered to neighbours is definitely relatable! I'm currently at an A2 level and had no problem reading this and can't wait to read the next book that's at the A2 level.

This is a great and very funny book, great for German learners, as is it's intended audience. This is the first book I've read in German where I feel like I've followed 80, 90% of it and as such it was a joy to read. In contrast I'm also trying to read Harry Potter in German, which is not aimed at German learners, and is way over my head... I'm lucky if I can understand 10% of the sentences... still interesting and important to do, I feel, but a completely different and more tiring experience. It's hard to pin down what exactly makes this so easy to follow... given that doesn't feel dumbed down in any way; covers all the grammar concepts I've been taught etc... but my guess is it's because it contains a lot of (very funny) dialogue as well as a lot description of movement, and thus welcome practice for prepositions etc, that would probably be taken for granted and thus omitted from regular German books. Anyway, I think it's an awesome book and ich freue mich darauf, mehr von dieser Autorin zu lesen :)
