It left a "non-compliant SFP inserted" error in the log, and the error beacon began flashing and has done so ever since. The transceiver, however, is working perfectly. Since the switch is in a closet, I don't care which lights blink as long as it's working. The transceiver has provided error-free gigabit service since it was installed. If you DO need more, I found these to be an excellent option short of 40/100Gbe QSFP links and other crazy stuff like that.These were for my Mikrotik CSS326-24G-2S+RM switch, and my Arista '7050S' SFP switch. I've had no issues, and so far these transceivers work at a decent temperature for my uses. I haven't packed my 7050s full of these lasers to see how they get at high density, but so far they seem to run nice and cool. It even offered me 'laser strength and attenuation' options in my 7050s's 'advanced transceiver configuration options', but I didn't dare go messing with anything.
