Galen Cordless Roman Shade, 27"W x 64"H, Sheen Ivory – Room Darkening, Thermal Insulated, Energy Efficient Window Blind with Subtle Sheen Basketweave Fabric for Privacy

We purchased seven of these shades and overall are very happy with them. The build quality is great - the rail is aluminum and feels sturdy, and the fabric has a nice texture and modern look (see photos). We also liked that there is no valence, which gives a cleaner, more contemporary appearance. The dimensions were accurate and the shades were very easy to install, though I needed longer screws than provided to reach the studs. They are easy to open and close, and stay securely in intermediate positions. If you want them fully folded up at the top, it may require a couple of gentle pushes to get them completely seated, but this is minor. A few things to note: the mounting brackets can be visible from certain angles, however, since the fabric attaches with Velcro, you can raise it slightly to conceal the brackets. Also, when installing outside the window frame, there is about a 2-inch gap between the wall and the shade due to the mounting hardware (see photos). Note that these are room-darkening shades (meaning, not light-filtering). They block more light than we ideally wanted, but they were still the best overall choice for us, so we accepted that trade-off. One of the shades arrived with a small red dot defect in the fabric, but Amazon replaced it quickly. The fabric also had wrinkles out of the box and required steaming. Most wrinkles came out easily, and the remaining minor ones continue to improve over time. Overall, these shades look modern, feel well-constructed, and perform well.

A good value for an off the shelf product. It’s hard to find fabric Roman shades at a reasonable price. We originally installed it above the molding but there wasn’t enough room for the roller shade to rotate. Once we moved it to the frame, it worked as described. As others pointed out, the fabric is not very room darkening but I was aware of that before I purchased so it was as expected. The installation was easy, and it looks attractive. The color was consistent with the photo. Overall I was pleased with the Madison Park Galen Cordkess Shade.

Very sturdy shades that block a lot of sunlight during the day when I have them drawn. They are a little tense pulling them but are easy to operate to open and close.

I looked for weed before settling on a brand. They were very easy to put up, I wanted up that screwed in. Fit 27” window perfect. Slightly wrinkled when they got here, but nothing a steamer couldn’t fix, and it didn’t remove the original pleats in them to close. They go up and down very easy, I like the tension on them. My husband said they’re easy to use and he hasn’t broken them yet which is a win! All 4 sit the same way when they’re pulled up (they aren’t even in the pictures, but I didn’t put the left one all the way up.) I got the beige color and they are much more brown/white/beige when pushed up, but do have a yellow hint to them when the light shines through if pulled down during the day (last pic). I have taupe curtains and white walls so this didn’t matter to me. When they’re pulled down it is darker in the room! I actually like some of the light coming in through the sides so at least I know it’s daylight! I am going to buy them again for our nursery!

I like these blinds. Not for main rooms but it gives the Roman blind vibe I'm looking for. They are easy to hang up and good quality. They fit my window perfectly and I liked the texture and colors.

I bought two of these. One is perfect. The other looks like it was sewn by a blind toddler with one hand. Crooked stitching, missed seams, pulling apart in some places. The basket weave material isnt square to the blind itself, none of the stitching is square to the blind, the material, or even other seams. I wouldnt really care except that its GLARINGLY OBVIOUS how out of square the material and stitching are when sitting in a window frame. Looking at the other reviews- is this why it was $30 cheaper than buying in it a box store? Is this just where madison park sells off blemished and second quality products? If so, why is that not in the item description? If not, whats up with the lack of quality control? One of the shades I bought it great. Looks perfect, fits perfect, works as expected. The other looks like someone was teaching Hellen Keller to use a sewing machine. Overall disappointed. I like the good one enough to replace the bad one; I just hope that the replacement is made correctly.

These are high quality, custom blinds. To me, they are worth the price. Look great, seal out light and sound perfectly if you measure correctly

I purchased two of these blinds. After putting them up we have noticed damage on both. On the smaller one, there is a hole in the back lining which is extremely obvious from the side you see in the room. The larger one does not go up and down correctly. When up, it is completely misaligned. Both arrived this way but we would not have been able to know there were issues until already installed. We are requesting a refund.

Easy pull down/ up blinds, well made and stylish. They have a lining on the back to keep some air f the light out. Nice grey colour. Very easy to instal.
