SAS is the way to go
Work great in my unRAID box to expand to more drives. I have two of these plugged into my SAS controller and they work great. I wish the plugs were lower profile but I moved to a new case (N600) and that isn't a problem anymore.

Easy transion from SATA to SAS
I got a controller capable working with both SATA and SAS. Recently, I have started switching drives from SATA to SAS and this cable and SATA-to-SAS adapters made transition easy. However, the cables are not designed for numerous connect-disconnect cycle. It is rather made for some troubleshooting and then connect and forget applications.

DOES work with SAS drives if you cover pins 1-3 on the adapter
I'm glad other reviewers pointed this out, but I'm going to confirm it here so you don't have to worry. It is TRUE that these work to successfully transmit SATA power in-->SAS power out so you can use your normal desktop PSU to power SAS drives. All you need to do is get some kapton tape, cut it roughly in half widthwise (half width), and cover pins 1-3 on this adapter. I would have taken a picture if I had remembered, but I'll describe how you need to do it here.On this adapter, there's exposed pins you will plug the SATA power section into. With those pins facing UP, pins 1-3 are the leftmost 3 pins. You can safely cover these with a strip of kapton tape and wrap it around the back a bit to hold on. Then, simply plug in your SATA power, plug the adapter into the drive, and you're good to go!All my SAS drives are now up and running with no issues!I am taking 1 star off for 2 things:1. The blue cables are very flimsy and worry me that they will cause signal problems. They are NOT durable enough for significant bending that may be necessary in some cases.2. It would be much better if it simply did not pass through pins 1-3 at all. It outright prevents the powering on of modern SAS drives because pin 3 is used for a reset signal.

Good quality, does its job well.
Good build quality and works well. Like any other cable - treat it well (no kinks, etc...) and it will work.

Great SAS Cables
These are great. If you're running a plex server, i recommend these all day long. They're cheap price, durable, and made well. They work exactly as intended.

Doesn't follow SAS spec and so probably won't work with any newish SAS drives.
I can't recall when the change was but it was at least back in 2020 or before when Pin 3 was changed from a power in to PWRDIS (Power disable, when voltage is high the drive shuts down). This change had the effect that if you have a drive that is running the power directly from the SATA connector straight through to the SAS side it will prevent a drive from starting up. This should be true for HDD and SSD unless the SSD completely ignores 3.3v which some do.So, the effect for me is that this cable does not work. One option would be to get Molex to SATA power adapters which removes the 3.3v however I was already short on depth. I instead opted to get a different cable that didn't supply the 3.3v and used only Molex connectors.

Good product. Works great.
I installed 2 of these in my server a couple of days ago, there was no issues what so ever.

They missed perfection by *this* much
These are specifically for SAS hard drives, so why does the connector allow 3.3V to pass through? I very carefully removed all three of the 3.3V pins from the male side of the connector for a permanent fix. If you have modern SAS hard drives, these pins are used for other functions and supplying 3.3V will prevent them from spinning up.

They’re “rounded”, not thin
Works with SAS Seagate Constellation drives pulled from a Dell R710 server. Can’t guarantee it will work with other SAS drives. I got two of these cables for my PERC card, and now I have a big 10TB RAID array in my gaming rig for my Steam library that’s twice as fast as a SATA SSD. Other reviews mention the thinness of the cable. They are thin, but have enough stiffness, braiding and heft that I wouldn’t worry about them breaking. They’re more “round” than they are thin, kind of like rounded IDE cables, for anyone old enough to remember those. They actually end up more convenient this way, as the width of the round cables make them easy to route in a desktop case.

Sas o non sas?
Cavetto di media qualità, non ha i contatti supplementari del connettore sas del disco.

Gutes SAS Kabel
Funktioniert prima an meinem LSI 9220-8i Adapter.

Worked for me.
This cable certainly works and had my SAS drives up to full speed. The connectors at both ends are good, the braiding gives it a nice touch but the data cabling is very thin compared to the StarTech equivalent. If you're not planning to make frequent disk changes or moving between test rigs it should work just fine.
