My long blonde hair has always been so dry it looks and feels like straw. I always had split ends, and when I pulled my hair back I looked like Medusa: tons of frizzy, sticky-uppy bits around my forehead. I was convinced I had thyroid problems and would never have normal, pretty hair. Other shampoos and conditioners would work for a couple of weeks, then it was back to frizz and crunch. In December 09 I went to a salon and got a haircut, and they used the Alterna. I was totally unconvinced it would work for me, but figured I'd splurge. The small Shampoo/Conditioner gift set was on sale for the holidays. I wasn't excited about the scent, but I decided to try it. Fast forward to July, 2010. My hair is so soft and smooth and silky, I can't keep my hands out of it. I love to wear it down, because it actually shines in the light. I have very few split ends, and a ton of volume. It has not built up on my hair or weighed it down, though I do sometimes switch from the Seasilk shampoo to Alterna clarifying shampoo (found in a discount store for 5 clams! Score!) just to say I do. And get this: I still have half a bottle of shampoo (it was the 8.5 oz bottle, not the large 33.5) and I still have a week's worth of conditioner left! Almost 8 months to an 8 oz bottle is AMAZING! I definitely never got that mileage out of grocery store products. My hair is not as long as it used to be, but it's still past my shoulders, and it takes so little of this product to clean and condition, I'm convinced it actually saves me money. The final straw is, I live and work on the Atlantic Ocean, and am constantly in saltwater. Between the salt, the sun, and the mineral-y, harsh tap water here, I cannot believe that I am able to have hair this healthy. Edit: I wrote this review July, 2010. Today is May 24, 2012, and I'm ready to order another bottle of this stuff. My hairdresser (I finally got a regular stylist, like a grown-up) remarks that while my hair is unkempt, it's healthy. Sadly, I find I can't afford it anymore. The price has DOUBLED! GAHHHHH!!

is a great conditioner- have used it for years- I have fine hair so apply it but do not keep it one too long- I apply a blow dry product on afterwards for body since I have fine hair

This is my favorite shampoo ever! I have turned all my friends onto this line. It’s very thick. It leaves your hair, nice and silky. I feel it moisturize my hair. It’s extremely expensive though. I wish the price would come down a bit. I will stick with this brand.

This stuff is AMAZING! My coarse, dry, wavey hair becomes this shiny, soft to the touch, MANAGEABLE mane that I'm getting compliments on for the first time in years. I can't use it everytime I wash my hair. It works almost too well. I'm 65.

This stuff is amazing, point blank. Problem?? It is VERY expensive, even at a bargain rate here on Amazon. But as many reviewers here have stated, if you're careful with the amount you use, it should last you a long time. I have (barely) shoulder length, fine hair and I use a dime+ sized amount of product. The price tag is in my head whenever I reach for the bottle, so I make sure to be frugal with this stuff. I have very fine, processed hair. My main concerns prior to using Caviar: dryness, dullness, hair loss/thinning. I've been using Caviar for a few weeks now (I actually had a travel set prior to this purchase) and can honestly say that I notice HUGE differences in my hair quality. One of the striking results is that my hair is far less greasy in between washings than it has EVER been. I typically have dry and greasy hair, which is a horrid combination. By the end of the day, my hair typically looks visibly greasy and oily despite a morning washing. Well, NOT now. Now I can go a whole day between washings (huge for me) and my hair still looks pretty fresh and healthy. I'm really astonished by this. As far as moisturizing benefits go, Caviar is FANTASTIC. It leaves your hair weightlessly and effortlessly moisturized. My hair never feels filmy or heavy as it does when I used other moisturizing shampoos. Though my pocket book is telling me NO, I can't see myself changing to another hair routine now that I am using this one. This is totally worth the extra money and I just can't get over how well it actually works. Buy with confidence. If you're unsure, try a sample/travel set by Alterna first.

Meine Haare werden nach der Nutzung von Shampoo und Spülung aus dieser Serie wunderbar weich und glänzend. Ich kann sie daher für trockenes Haar wirklich empfehlen, trotz des hohen Preises. Leider geht das Glänzende bei mir bereits am zweiten Tag ins Fettige über, für schnell nachfettende Haare ist diese Serie eindeutig nicht geeignet. Schade :-(

Hane nichts besseres bislang gehabt

I prodotti Alterna mi sono stati consigliati dal parrucchiere, li trovo eccezionali, per il mio riccio ribelle finalmente ho trovato una soluzione: capelli lucidi, morbidi, riccio perfetto! In particolare questo balsamo merita ogni centesimo speso....e con Amazon si paga la metà rispetto al salone! Soddisfattissima, non lo lascio più!! Lo raccomando senza ombra di dubbio, prodotto top ad un prezzo eccezionale! Spedizione in un giorno, come garantito. Grazie Amazon!!
