I bought this for a gift basket I am making for a secret santa, French themed. I have been to Paris France twice and I miss it so much. This candle is a great reminder of it! I might go back and buy one for myself. It reminds me of the smells of all the cafés and open makerkets, buttery smell of all the fresh bread, faint smell of tobacco. Wonderful and spot on!

Great Smell; Icky Look
Everyone that comes in the house, love the way it smells! I’m down for that I have, is that the more it melts it starts to become yellow and look like it actually has maple syrup inside of it. I was hoping you would stay white and clean looking the entire time. Other than that, reminds me of Canada for sure.

Disappointing and headache-inducing
I am so upset. I went to uni in London, and my heart is still there, so when I saw there was a Homesick candle that was supposed to smell like the UK, I couldn’t order it fast enough. I should, however, have slowed down. I don’t know exactly how they decided what the “scent” of England should be, but this isn’t it.When I think of England, I think of black tea, fresh-baked scones, salt air and rock at Brighton, cider and chips with vinegar after a night out clubbing, ozone before the perpetual rain, Walkers shortbread, Cadbury chocolate, and the smells of Fairy Liquid, Persil, and the food hall at M&S. Any of those would have been great.This smells more like bug spray, cheap perfume, and slightly rancid baked goods—it’s just bad. The description on the back (see pic) is lovely, but basically fictional. None of those notes are identifiable. I haven’t even lit it yet; it’s just sitting on my mantlepiece, but my whole living room reeks from it. I have to give it one star for potency, though. They didn’t skip on the scent oil. It stinks, but it’s strong.The label is very pleasing in a minimalist way, too, and the box is very attractive. It would make a great gift for someone who still hasn’t gotten their sense of smell back from COVID. The candle is tiny for the price. 10/10 would not buy again. (For size comparison, I took photos of the candle next to a standard Yankee.)
