Well Built Product That Performs.
I was very pleasantly surprised. It works as well, if not better, than any other manual solder sucker I’ve used. It comes with two replacement tubes that can be cut to size. The tubes can gum up if you use a lot of flux but that is to be expected.I ordered some additional tubes from a different vendor. It was a pack of twenty for a few bucks, so I should be set for a long time. I’ve also heard some buy tubing from an aquarium store and used it with success. There has been mention of the stem breaking when depressed. It feels very solid, but I think I can see where it might snap in time with heavy use. But again, it feels very solid and I’ve been using it often with no issues. I’ve had great experiences using this in conjunction with a soldering iron as well as a hot air soldering station. The suction is great, and the unit feels well built. In my humble opinion, it seems every bit as good as the Engineer brand. The body is metal and seems very durable and substantial without being too heavy. I would buy this again in the future and recommend it to friends.I have had great luck with KOTTO products so far. I ordered one of the square desktop versions of their fume extractor and I was also pleasantly surprised. It is very effective for what it is and is very well built.KOTTO, so far, is a brand that I have come to respect. Hopefully that continues.About the rating:I gave it a five-star review because I couldn’t really find a reason to deduct any. It’s solid and does exactly what a solder sucker should do. If you’re having issues, you might just need a bit of practice. No shame in that. Thanks for your time,LLAP

Appears to be Better Than the Engineer/Vampire Solder Sucker
I attached an image showing the differences between the Engineer Solder Sucker and the Kotto Solder Sucker. It should be obvious which is which.Shorter spring Engineer.Longer spring Kotto.Shorter pump assembly Engineer.Longer pump assembly Kotto.Shorter housing Engineer.Longer housing Kotto.Having went through and broken 3 Engineer solder suckers I can say the Kotto appears to be better made. Two issues I have had several times on the Engineer suckers has been the top plunger area having too small a diameter of metal (causing breakage). Notice the Kotto sucker has a much bigger diameter base in this area. Its 3.4mm (Kotto) vs 2.4mm (Engineer). For the Kotto it seems like the diameter is larger than it appears in the photos of the sale page (perhaps it was updated at some point).Next notice the the metal shaft on the Engineer solder sucker is bent (this is a common issue). The Koto shaft seems to be made in a better fashion (it also appears to be made of a better metal). From the apparent quality I am already satisfied, but I will update this over time if there are and relevant issues. For those that don't know this type of desoldering pump is ideal for SMD retouching and requires silicone tubing (which adds up). However, there is nothing better for pulling solder out of tight areas (even professional desoldering stations aren't as good in many situations). Add fresh solder to the area, then while heating the solder place the silicone nozzle over the pool of solder and press the button. It takes some practice but the pump is so powerful there is a lot of room for error.
