I just received this item and it wont expand into the miter slot and hold tight. It's a 3/4 inch slot, what's the problem?

1. Ensure that the tabs on the head of the screw are aligned with the slots in the miter clamp. The head of the screw will be recessed into the miter clamp when it's correct. See product images for more details. 2. Some miter slots are extra wide. If that is the case, it can be helpful to disassemble the Hedgehog components, insert the tip of a flat screwdriver into the miter clamp slot and twist it some to expand the clamp. It doesn't take much. Reassemble the Hedgehog as it was originally (washer goes between knob and body of Hedgehog).

The hedgehog is rotating in the video, why?

That's the way it's designed! It has a single knob so the Hedgehog's spiral shape allows it to be quickly and simply adjusted to accommodate the board's width by rotating it into position.

Yes! The Hedgehog miter clamp fits all 3/4-inch miter slots.

How do you keep it from sliding with the wood as you are cutting?

Once the knob is tightened, the Hedgehog doesn't slide or rotate easily. When the knob is tightened, it causes the conical head of the screw to expand the miter clamp which tightens it in the miter slot. There are two possible causes for the miter clamp not being secure in the miter slot: 1. The conical head of the screw has two bumps that should be placed inside the gaps of the miter clamp to prevent it from rotating. When the bumps are in the gaps of the miter clamp, the head of the screw will be slightly recessed. If the head of the screw is flush with the miter clamp, they are not properly aligned. 2. If the miter clamp is moving in the slot or the body of the Hedgehog is rotating too much, simply tighten the knob a bit more. Since the Hedgehog only has a single knob, it requires a bit more force to tighten than that required with traditional featherboards that have two knobs. There are extra images of the correct screw position in the product images but you have to double click on one of the images for them to appear as part of the slideshow.

Excellent easy and convenient to use

this feather board works really well. quick to set up and use. this is actually the second one I have purchased. I intend to stack them one on top of the other so I can use them when cutting tall stock.

Does not fit my Dewalt table saw. Returning.

Size is wildly inaccurate, not impressed

Can' say I am terribly happy, the item description says it is for 3/4 inch slots; 3/4 inch is 19.05 cm but the bolt head maximum width I measured as 15.28 cm (see attached pictures) so it does not begin to fit either of the 19.3 cm slots in my Dewalt job site table saw. I have some suitable bolts and I will try to modify the hedgehogs to take them, otherwise they are going in the bin.

Also für das Geld muss man eindeutig sagen "nein danke" ! Habe eine Bosch gts 10 xc und der mitgelieferte Nutenstein passt nicht mal ansatzweise. Nach zurechtschneiden und feilen des Nutenstein wollte ich es Dan ausprobieren und man bekommt es nicht per Hand so festgedreht das es fest sitzen tut ohne es beim sägen zu verschieben. Fazit...dieses Produkt funktioniert nicht so wie hier beschrieben.

I actually ordered two of these in two separate orders. I have DeWalt Contractor Saws at two locations. Once I found how easy to use and how tightly it keeps the wood against the fence during rising, I immediate ely ordered one for the second saw. At first the single clamping knob seemed insufficient. However, in several months of use, I have never had a piece of lumber kick back or bind while using the featherboard. On another saw, I was curing my weatherboards out of pine on a bandsaw and clamping to the table, but the DeWalt folding contractor table does not accommodate this method. This unique featherboard allows me to hold the work against the fence as long as. it is not wider than the T-Slots on the table. I have found it a safety benefit. It is versatile in that I can adjust it with one hand and it works for lumber of any thickness. It is well built. I was concerned for the single clamping point at first, but this has not been a point of failure at all. I would recommend this featherboard to DIYers and professionals using a T-slot saw.
