A fantastic adventure game, deeper and bigger than its predecessors.
Incredible work by Thames & Kosmos with this game. For an adventure game to truly work, you want multiple options that span across different story lines whilst also providing an equally stimulating experience. This is clearly an evolution on the last two adventure games and is a much more expanded game and arguably worth double its asking price. If you remotely like board games, puzzle game and role playing game then this is absolutely up your street.I would thoroughly recommend using the helper app to read out the entries with this game, unlike the previous two, the entries here are much larger and you will spend a LOT of time reading. The helper app makes it a bit easier to digest and to focus on the puzzle at hand.

Convoluted
Ok have enjoyed many Thames and Kosmos games but this one seemed convoluted, and the plot just not that great.

Great board game!
Thames and Kosmos make a lot of good games, mainly the exit ones but they have now branched to adventure games, great fun for the whole family/gaming group, similiar to time stories, you have to work together to get past the story!

Illogical & random
I own a number of Adventure Games by Kosmos, so I'm generally a fan. This made our experience of The Volcanic Island even more disappointing. The story line is nonsensical and disjointed. The characters behave randomly. The clues and major gameplay triggers seem to be distributed randomly without logic. We ended up having to randomly combine cards and locations to progress in the game. It ended up being a chore to finish the game. We'll not play the game again - disappointing.
