USGI Improved Sport Duffel Bag Slightly Irregular NSN# 8465-01-604-6541

I'm giving it 5 stars based on it's quality, given that it is listed as slightly irregular. I didn't notice any defects in the product, nothing was missing, crooked, under or mis-aligned. It is more convenient than a regular duffle given that you can open up the entire bag rather than having to pull everything out to reach something near the bottom. However, it doesn't hold as much as a duffle, and is a bit difficult to close if you over pack this bag. Still, for the quality of the bag, and if you don't mind having to carry less than you normally would in a duffle, this product is pretty good. I would say it holds maybe 70-80 percent than you would carry in a regular duffle.

Like others have said, this bag is a big improvement over the old duffel bag. The side zipper can be locked with small pad locks, offering you a little bit security for your items. The bag has thicker shoulder straps than the old duffel bag, which I think will be much more comfortable for carrying long distances. The clear plastic pouch on the end of the bag has a Velcro piece where you can put a name tape -- also would work well as a holding place for a packing list, which would be very useful if you're hauling 3 or 4 duffel bags. The bag can be side carried like a gym bag also, but it is a bit large for being carried that way.

-i used one just like this in the army, the one i bought off amazon did not live up to expectations-one of the shoulder straps ripped off with barely 30 pounds in the bag, my previous bag was able to haul well over 60 pounds of stuff with no problem-zipper works fine-canvas material is sturdy-holds a good amount of stuff-buckles seem to work finemaybe i got a bad one from the batch or something since most people dont seem to have this problem, but this really turns me away from getting another one

You could easily smuggle half the residents of a small Cambodian village in this bag. It’s big. It’s also sturdy. Durable. Has top quality zippers and excellent stitching. Lots of straps.I know it’s supposedly “irregular” but damned if I can find anything wrong. Look, it’s military surplus. If it works for our troops it will easily hold up to most ordinary things.Made in the USA 🇺🇸(That’s pretty damn important to me)Highly recommendedThanks for reading

The Bag was of the highest Quality !! While the description said.."slightly irregular", I didn't see even one bad stitch !! And, I looked very close at every area on it & found it to be Perfect !! It's plenty large to hold tons of 'stuff '....it's Built Very Well and should last a very long time !! I'm very pleased with it & the price I paid for it...would buy it again in a minute....

I ordered a previously issued bag, and this bag, just to see if I could find any difference. I received both bags the same day. I examined the fabric under 5x magnification. I compared the stitching and dimensions. I tried to find out why this might have been rejected as a second. I was ready to send it back. But I can’t find any differences. When compared to North Face or Patagonia, this is an amazing deal. If you stuff it with 70 lbs of gear, yes, the shoulder straps might give way ...God gave us the wisdom to tie a knot...did he not? It’s not waterproof like a Yeti...but it’s $300 cheaper and made in the USA.

If you’re a fan of heavy duty duffel bags like I am, this one is for you. This bag from, what I can tell, Is produced by Native American company, and that’s great. It’s a well made bag for the US Army.This thing is made of 1000 denier Cordura. It’s a much better version of the classic bag that was a top loading bag. This one is a side zip. The zipper is probably one of the burliest, toughest I’ve ever seen.In short, this thing is worth as much is one of those Patagonia black hole duffel bags. It’s probably tougher, too. Nice bag, very strong and nice new design. If there is an irregular on my bag I couldn't find. Everything looks great and all straps, zipper and buttons work nicely. I've used it a few times already and it's just the right size for me and what I need it for. Also when I need an item out of it and it's at the bottom I don't have to pull everything else out just to get it.
