Yes, I added snowflakes using heat transfer vinyl. But be very careful not to touch the iron to the ear straps. Completely ruined the first one by accidentally melting the strap with the iron.

Q: Do you take the filter out while washing?

Yes, you need to remove the disposable filter before washing. They are a paper material and are replaced periodically depending on how often you use the mask. If you use it everyday then it should be replaced each day or every other day.
