Really pleased. Great price!
I just got this last week for my two 7-year old sons. They love it! I'm a single mom, 5'0, and I consider myself relatively strong. The weight and height of the equipment was not an issue, and I set this up mostly by myself. There were a couple places during set up where another pair of hands would have been helpful, but I managed. I recommend a second wrench or a pair of pliers to hold the nuts in place while you tighten the bolts. I found that attaching the backboard/hop to the pole was the most awkward/challenging part due to the weight and positioning of the entire thing. I was working on it myself, but my neighbor came home just at that time to help me finish it up. I need it to be mobile enough to be moved on a daily basis, so I filled the base up with water instead of sand thinking it would be light enough for me to move around myself. It's really sturdy with water, but too heavy for me to move myself. I'm thinking I'll empty enough water out for me to be able to move it, and then throw some sand bags on the platform once in place. All in all I find it simple to set up, though two people would make the process quicker. I took me about 2 hours, and a lot of that time was spent messing around with my stupid tools. The instructions weren't super clear, but if you have any experience with technical reading you will figure it out. I was looking on Craigslist for one of these, and the asking prices weren't too far off from what I paid for this new. Plus, I didn't have to borrow a vehicle to go pick up a used one. I'd rather spend a little extra money to have it delivered to me and set up myself.

Great product for the hall family to enjoy
We recently purchased a portable basketball hoop for my 7 year old son. We are happy with the fast shipping; Using a free two days shipping from Amazon Prime, the hoop was shipped to my house two days after I ordered it . Even the assembly instructions were very helpful, and it took my husband only a couple hours to assemble it. In addition, putting it together wasnโt that complicated. The hoop looks exactly like the picture. It is made of high quality material , which means that the hoop will last for a long time. Also, itโs blue color was exactly what we were expecting. Adjusting the height is simple, and moving the hoop from one place to another was easy; even I can move it from our garage to our driveway and back without any difficulties - and I'm only 5โ2โ!! We have a lot of fun playing with it on weekends and after schoolโitโs our new family tradition. Now, my son spend hours playing basketball in our drive way. He really likes it, and he also liked its color. I would totally recommend it for the price. No need to spend $150 to $200 on a starter hoop for kids around the age of my son. This will last them a great while, and it's been fun for the whole family. This hoop is great overall in term of the price, the quality and the shipping, weโre very happy with this purchase, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a hoop that it is good enough for their kids in early age to play and enjoy at a very good price.

Has met expectations for the past 8 years!
I put this entire thing together by myself. It's pretty simple and the instructions were not confusing. The quality of the product is great. I've moved it in and out of the garage more than a dozen times and the base is still holding water without any leaks. I've had this for 3.5 months. It's in the garage for the winter and it's too soon to comment on handling the elements with regard to rusting or fading. Update --- November 26, 2017 --- it's been one year and it looks and functions as good as new. No bend in the hoop, no color fading on the backboard, no loose bolts, no leaks in the base, and no rust on the stand. Over the past year, it's been garage kept when not in use. However, I've kept it out on the weekends this past summer as long as no rain was expected. This Fall, I've left it out all day and night (plenty of sun and rain). It gets used almost daily. It has held up well to the elements. I'm very happy with the purchase and the price is fair compared to the competition. Update.... Two years old and no issues, absolutely no sign of fading or deteriorating. It's been left out for months at a time and other times brought into the garage. Update....... 3.5 years and still solid. Left it out all Summer and Fall. I checked all the bolts and nuts but nothing is loose or rusted. I used some WD-40 and a wire brush on on small spot on the back of the pole that appeared to be developing rust. Otherwise, still great. Update.... 4 years. It's been out since February this year (it's July/2020). No rust, no fading, nothing is loose, no leaking from the base. This thing is solid. I paid $100 four years ago. Still as good as new. Update with photographs at 4.5 years.... No issues, no fading, no cracks, no leaks, but I did find rust on the inside of the pole. All of the photos are after 4.5 years of use and wear in the elements. This basketball hoop has stood up pretty well and looks almost new. Updateโฆ 5 years (July 2021). Itโs been outside since the Spring and itโs now July. No change in appearance or functionality. No leaks. Even the net is in perfect condition. Updateโฆ. 5 years, 10 months (April 2022). Left it outside since last Spring. Absolutely no issues with it. Snow, rain, sun, sleet, heavy wind, โฆ itโs been tested and has passed. Looks just as new as when purchased almost 6 years ago. Updateโฆ.. purchased in July 2016 and here we are December 2022. 6.5 years and still perfectly fine. I have kept it outside all year long and itโs got no rust, no cracks, even the netting is fine (which is surprising). Updateโฆโฆ 8 years later and it is still rock solid. Same original netting. Iโve had it out in the elements, day and night, since the Spring and Iโm writing this update as we approach Fall. No cracks, no rust, no fading, โฆ.. nothing. Great for Little One's, good for everyone else
I just added a comment to my review so look for it at bottome. I still have this product 5 years later and all good! RJ 11/28/15 ----------------------- Read all the reviews on this. Mind you, I was a bit skeptical at the price, but in the end, I locked and loaded on this one and am very happy. Below is my written review and I've also attached some video. Read the review first. As for it being complicated to put together, I really did not find this to be an issue. Sure, there were a couple of vague areas, but I found if I just paused, thought about it for a while, the answer came to me. Aside from putting one bolt in backwards (kids could have bonked their head on it so just turned it around) it all worked out nicely. One adult can do most of the work, but you must have two for the mounting of the back board and hoop. As for quality. It's just fine. For little kids, I think this is perfect. If I was buying it for older kids, I might get one of the other models with a bigger back board and where the board is extended off the pole. I recorded a couple of videos which shows you how the back board sits right on the pole. As one reviews stated, if you were running and slamming, you'd run right into the pole. Sometimes the ball hits the pole and kicks it back out. So this hoop system is really more for "goofing" around than serious play. If you have a limited budget and / or you just want something for goofing around, or for little kids who have an interest in Bball, really I can't find any faults. The price can't be beat. The system is very stable and sound.

Good value
We bought this for our grandson a year ago and he is still enjoying it daily practically a year later, so we are happy with our purchase! We filled the base with sand and that was quite a chore, but after seeing that it held up, it was worth it! (finding dry sand was a challenge too).

easy and fun!!
My kids have been wanting a hoop for the driveway, but I really didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a set up and have them lose interest. This one seemed nice for the price...and it IS! It arrived in a big cardboard box...no extra shipping cost. It is heavy though. I had to move it by myself out of the driveway, and just used a scooter to roll the box to our patio for assembly. You can assemble with one person, although 2 makes it easier. READ the directions. We had some bolts included that were different from the ones described, but could figure it out. Make sure you tip it over to attach the backboard to the pole...there is no standing on ladders (in fact the directions say you shouldn't put it upright until it is attached. My husband and 12-year old son did most of the assembly together, but they did get stuck where the two little metal arms screw into the backboard. They said that it didn't line up correctly and got stuck. Mommy figured out that the backboard needed to be pulled up at the top (not the whole thing sliding north) and the last two screws went in easily then. There is a little crater in base to hold the ball, which is nice. We just filled our reservoir base with water (not sand) because for our needs, we knew it would be drained more easily in the fall when it will be rolled into the garage. I don't know how you would get sand out of there. There are wheels on the front of the base so it can be tipped, but it is really heavy to move around when full. I guess this is a good thing (my nephew never filled his on his hoop and it tipped over and broke his windshield one night!) but if you want it to move around often, it won't be easy. We also don't change the height up and down with any regularity, but it would probably behoove you to use two people for this task. The kids have really had a blast with it. We have it at the 10 foot height, since they are 12, and it is pretty close to regulation...however the backboard seems smaller than a "real" one. Some reviewers noted that they did not like the pole not being offset from the backboard. And a more expensive hoop would have that feature, but we haven't had any trouble with it...the base is big enough that you really aren't running under the basket. Overall, we are very happy with it. We have played many games of horse and simple one-on-one with it. It is a very well-spent hundred bucks! Much better than so many other expensive toys that just sit untouched after a month or so. I even used taking foul shots as a game to let them choose chores (the winner got to pick the job he wanted...the loser had to take the other one.)Even mommy and daddy like to bet a few dollars on hard shots! ha ha!!

Good product but assembly is horrendous
The story has a happy ending: the basket is assembled, and my kids love it. Getting there, however, was anything but a happy experience. First of, the package arrived with 2 out of the 3 pole pieces missing. To Lifetime's credit, reaching customer services was a breeze and the missing parts were delivered in 4 days. But the assembly was very painful (and this is coming from a grizzled veteran of many an-IKEA assembly). All-in-all, it took about 3 hours; half of it was just me on my own; then me with my wife who joined upon hearing my cursing. Here are the major pain points: 1) There is no way you can complete the assembly in the sequence suggested in the manual unless you are a 7'4" power-lifter with 6 arms. E.g. it is physically impossible to attach the back-board to the pole when the pole is vertical--as the manual suggests. Maybe a team of three people with ladders could do it--maybe... So effectively it's on you to experiment and find a position that works 2) Figuring out how to connect the three parts of the pole takes forever because the parts are not labeled. The instructions video on YouTube (you can scan a QR code to view it) is NOT helpful: in it the guy breezes through the pole assembly in about 45 seconds, and it's extremely hard to follow 3) Some hardware included in the package was different from the hardware described in the manual. In the end, it all comes together, but figuring out what replaces what is a bitc.... very unpleasant. Bottom line: for a little over $100, the product itself is definitely worth the money. Maybe once the memories of my epic assembly struggles fade I will revisit the rating. Until then, it's a 3/5.

Highly recommend
Very well made. A little difficult to get the sand into the base but my grandson is loving his birthday present so far as is his little friends. It will last him a long time. It took my son and daughter awhile to put together but instructions were fine.

Kids are loving it!
Great quality and easy to assemble! The only time consuming part was filling the base with sand. I tried using a funnel but it would just stick in the funnel. It'd be nice if the hole was a little bigger to allow a bigger funnel and for the sand to flow through.

Very please. Great deal.
Very please with the quality of the product. It took me and my son about one hour to put it together. The instructions were easy to follow. Great deal.

Very good net and great value for intermediate net
I think it was a very sturdy net and the pieces were nicely organized in the box. I think the net should be easier to adjust and the instructions should be easier to understand...this can be done by physically labelling the 3 pole pieces.

Easy assembly and looks good
Was very easy to put together, and looks great, kids play with it daily and weโve had no issues. Very stable as well, filled the base with water and itโs able to me moved around the drive way with ease but has never fallen over
