Excellent quality, no mold — great vendor
These were excellent, no mold, packed in glass, and very tasty! I read other reviews where other companies shipped them and they came with mold; this comes from France, and quality control was excellent.

Right out of the jar, they are cold and balmy in one's mouth!
I've never tasted chestnuts before so I really don't know how these are supposed to taste. I expected them to be similar to brazil nuts. But they actually are not! These have been roasted then boiled so that the consistency is a little mushy, not 'nut crunchy'. They do provide a nice smoked after taste that lingers a bit in the back of one’s throat and is quite nice. I will try different ways of serving them to see if the ‘mouth appeal’ can improve. Perhaps I will try re-roasting them to get some of the squishy moisture back out of them and have another go at trying them.

Delicious and easy!
These chestnuts were delicious! Is used them to make my mother's chestnut dressing recipe for Thanksgiving. She always bought fresh ones, but I would never go to all that work of boiling and shelling them! These chestnuts in a jar were every bit as good as fresh ones!

Great find in very delicious
This is so delicious and I use them every year in my turkey stuffing as chestnuts are hard to find in the grocery store or way too expensive and these are already peeled.

Great for our Greek Recipes
Perfect chestnuts. Well cooked, but still nice and firm textured.

Good product!
For people who like chestnut, I wholeheartedly recommend this product. Chestnuts are very sensitive and difficult to keep mold free. These are perfect and hold well for a long time (refrigerated after opening).

very useful in many dishes savoury or sweet. one may eat them with a spoon or use them to accent or contrast a vegetable such as brussels sprouts. planning to glaze several, or coat them in caramel or chocolate. they won't be the same as those enormous ones that cost the earth that are individually laid into fluted golden cups but they are versatile and some of them will definitely get sugar syrup baths.

These were great and worth the price. Unlike almost EVERY other product on the market, these did't come from a part of the world I don't trust food to come from and I was very glad to find two brands out of all the others that came from France and a neighboring country. Worth every penny and got to enjoy them for the first time in years. So did a couple of others I shared them with because they expire quickly once opened and I couldn't eat the whole jar in that time myself :)
