Great price - good quality and value
I have read many mixed reviews on this product, but decided to purchase anyway. The price ($168 shipped) couldn't be beat for what I got vs. what I am using this safe for.The digital combination lock is working fine, and even though the open/close knob appears loose, it is acceptable and seems secure. Having the option of opening the safe with a key is a plus ... just in case the digital keypad fails ... I hope!So far, so good!

Cheap and Useless, DO NOT BUY
THIS IS THE WORST SAFE EVER. As a business owner, I too searched for deals on a double door safe for internal and external theft control. First sign was that the keys did not work properly so I had to install the batteries. After 3 days the bottom dial SIMPLY STOPPED TURNING and would not lock! I tried to fix it by twisting the knob to and fro and it began to work for a few days when during this time the top stoped working as well! I tried to take out the batteries and use the key method again to troubleshoot but the key did not work either. The bolts just dont turn in or out anymore and this safe is useless at this point. Please just dont cheap out especially when it comes to your business and buy this safe. IT IS HORRIBLE!!

No brainer
First off this is not a Swiss vault but it's tough enough, if your just loaded then you'd want to bolt this to anything, but as a freestanding safe it's a perfect size and weight to hold guns and $. If they are heavier the better, but the best is the mail slot? It fills fast with everything from cash to receipts, but you'll have them? I currently use mine as a nightstand which may seem awkward but just throw a sheet on it, clock radio and a lamp....make it prettier but as is pretty for me.

Great Price for Fair Product
You get what you pay for. If this suits your needs, it's a bargain. It's not fireproof. It will deter thieves because it is relatively heavy. A burglar would want a dolly for this one. If you bolt it down, you'll make it difficult for the run-of-the-mill house burglar. Holes are pre-drilled: two sets in the MIDDLE horizontally at each side end on both the floor and on the back wall of the safe. Ideally, the safe design should have had four pre-drilled holes in the CORNERS of the floor. A determined thief could conceivably jerk a safe back and forth from the top and sheer the floor bolts off its moorings. Additional bolting of the back wall of the safe will further secure it. However, at least one bolt should be a strong, thick and lengthy wood screw going directly into a stud. The other can simply be a strong anchor bolt through the sheet rock.Standing alone, I consider this model top-heavy and consequently a tip hazard for an inquisitive young child who might be attracted to play on it after he gets tired of pushing the buttons and activating the lights on the combination key boards. If you have a young one around, you could store it on its back until you're ready to bolt it down. You won't want to use it in this position. Opening the heavy doors to the safe is almost impossible when it's on its back. In it's regular vertical position (unbolted), it's even more of a tip hazard with either or both safe doors open. The bottom safe is big enough for a very small child or pet to fit into. Keep the kids and critters away. Don't let them play with this. Don't let older kids know the combination or have key access. Make sure that curious cat of yours doesn't sneak into it before you close the door.

A safe with no locks... :(
Cheap is cheap.. Don't waste your money. It worked fine for a few months until the top lock stopped locking..After contacting Paragon Lock & Safe, I was told that it was a commonly defective part and to send it back to them so they could send a replacement. After two months, still no part. And guess what!?! The bottom locked stopped working.Paragon's solution to the problem...? Send the other broken lock back in even though they still haven't "fixed" the first. Now I have a safe with no locks... What is the point of a safe with no locks?Just don't buy this safe unless you are using it as a decoy safe and want Someone to be able to break into it.

This has been a great safe. We had an issue with the lock almost a year later on the top safe but was promptly assisted by Mindy at Paragon! It's working great again, just needed to replace a part, which they shipped right away to me.

Having problems with top door. 1) it is uneven 2) the key lock will not allow the battery to fit as it should. Door is not leveled, rubbing on the left lower corner. Battery won't fit right because of the key lock being our to far.Seller hasn't contact ne as of yet

Well I like that the safe I receved lets me put 1 ...
Well I like that the safe I receved lets me put 1 user code and 1 master code for each door. So 2 codes pe-door.Note I did not get the one I orded though. Mine did not have the anti-fishing teethed slot as described and shown above. Mine just hade a short strate in drop slot. I orded the one with the teethed drop slot but got a difrint model.I did get my order faster that I thought I would. The safe I got came with 4 keys. 2 for the top door and to for the bottom door. Both the keys and the key-locks are numbered.I can tell you that the one I got came with instroctions that did not make a lot of sence untel I re-read them like 7 to 10 times. Thy were poorly worded and had sevrel mis-wordings and mis-spellings. And I know I can't spell very well but even I know how to type instroktions that make enough sence to where thy can be read and understould. Despite my bad spling. Lol.Also this tase is not deep-enough nor wide-enough to hold a 5 bill chash box or chash tray.It can hold a 4 bill tray or cash box in the bottom but the doors locking bolts get in the way of leting a 4 bill box or tray from fitting in the top box of the safe, and of litting more then one 4 bill chash box fit in the bottom box. This safe need to be like 1 to 2 inches deeper or about 5 inches wider. This safe is not idel for a lorg buissnes but should be OK for a small buissnes that is just startting out.For a bussines makeing like $2,000 - $5,000 or more per-day or $10,000 - $15,000 per-week I would say definetly get a better safe!An for a small bussines owner I would say that I think you should try to keep only just enough money in a safe like this one just to be-able to make change for your customers. If you are a small bussines owner that I would say that you should try to keep no-more in the safe then maybe $75 per chashyear and maybe at the most $300 for the mane chashyear for on the very busey days.

good for the money.
its a great unit however the drop part of the safe is very sleek. You cant drop coins in it. That's the only down side of this. if its for envelopes and items like that it would work amazing. Not good for cash drops.
