Essential Aristotle
One of Aristotleโs best works, this translation is also clear and to the point. I recommend this version, the content is well worth the cost.

The Best Edition of Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics I Know
Of the four translations of the Nicomachean Ethics I have, I like this the best. It's difficult to make any translation of this work sound 'natural', but Crisp does a better job than the others I have (these include Ross's and Irwin's). In addition, Cambridge has printed this on excellent paper and in a format slightly larger than usual for this work, making it a pleasure to read.

Grad gift
For a kid in our day, awareness of this book can be a help. I gave one to my son for graduation from high school. It seems a good translation.

If you like the 'Politics'
It's Aristotle. If you like the 'Politics', 'Rhetoric', 'Ars Poetica', etc. you will find this to be intellectually stimulating and well worthwhile. In my opinion, everyone should read as much Aristotle as possible. It would make for a lot better world..

An introduction to good values.
I wouldn't do without it. A primer to good values as a being of virtue. Not necessary per say, but without it where would you be?

Now I begin to understand why Virtue Ethics is considered so highly by many philosophers today. I had not read this book with any purpose before. Having been 'made to read it' as part of a University course, and discuss it in seminars, I began to see why deontology and consequentialism were not the only game in town.
