This filter can be referred to as β€œhepa-type” which causes lots of confusion for buyer because of this creative wording. The last two filters I had purchased from this listing seem to be from a bad batch and had a slight stale odor (I tested by running the myair without the filter and no stale odor). I have since ordered replacement filters from an offbrand on Amazon that are also H13 HEPA filter. **Q: Is this an activated carbon filter?** A: No, this is a 3-in-1 Replacement Filter for the MYair. I have used the Bissell My Air with this bissell brand filter for a few years and this does improve the air quality and my allergies.
