Q: Except for the size and shape, is this the same formula as the shaving soap?

No, it is not but it is somewhat similar. The bath soap is more of a hard milled product and the scent while mild is different as well. I believe the bath soap has more skin friendly ingredients to prevent drying and cracking of the skin. The shave soap while skin friendly, has more "glide" to it.

Q: What are the ingredients ?

Natural lanolin from the wool of sheep. Flax spinners have rough hands, but wool spinners have soft hands. I just read the wrapper from a bar of my soap. It has sodium tallowate, sodium palm kemelate, aqua, parfum, coumarin, linalool, glycerin, sodium chloride, lanolin, C177891, tetrasodium, EDTA, tetrasodium etidronate. I wish it didn't have palm, as I am trying to avoid it.

Q: Can I use it to wash/replenish lanolin in wool cloth items?

I don't think so but this soap is certainly used for woolen items, hand knitted mittens and socks in Norway. It has a lovely scent.

Q: Does the lather burn if it gets into eyes

Although I have been using this soap for about one year, I have never felt any burning of the eyes. Mostly, I just keep them shut when washing my face. If this is a question regarding using it on a young child, I'm sorry but I can't help you.
