After multiple purchases & returns of filters for my LG refrigerator (never a problem in the past), I did some research and basically found out that if you purchase a generic filter (LT1000P) the CONNECTOR PORT in the head of the filter has changed. Some reviews and sellers tell you to make sure the connector is lined up correctly or a special tool is needed to turn the connector in the refrigerator. My LG refrigerator (side by side) has the drop down filter on the top inside, the refrigerator side. My connector port was properly lined up but this filter would not insert and turn properly without using major force which I was not going to chance and cause damage to my refrigerator. A tool was suppose to be included but it was not and it would not have made a difference anyway, in my case. After reading some other reviews regarding my type of filters, I found that some people were cutting the little bridge out of the connector, to make it look like a circle instead of a circle with a line in the center. My husband tried this with a razor knife and like a miracle it fit and turned perfectly. No leaks and water dispenses great. Hopefully this review can help other people in search of the same filter.

Filter was as advertised. It arrived promptly, was easily installed and we are enjoying the chilled water.

I've used this filter before in my LG refrigerator. Like all filters you need to run about 2 gallons of water through it to avoid any issues.Easy to change, works well.
