It has a little bit of padding and some straps to tote around now and again. If you are looking for a case for your kid to take to school everyday for band practice this is not the case for you it will be shredded in short order. Even though it is reasonably well stitched, the liner is thin and easily ripped. It's an occasional gental use kind of thing, or throw your beater instrument in and hit a gig at a dive bar.
