Hayward Auto Skim Series Automatic Pool Skimmer and Cleaner with Self Adjusting Weir, Float and Bypass Valve, and 2 Inch Female Iron Pipe, White

Bought this to replace an older Skimmer. I believe the original to be installed sometime in the 1970's. Turns out the original could have been reused as the flex pipe that was connected to it was faulty. I installed the new one anyway as that is the easy part. The new skimmer came complete, all the parts where in a single box and the instructions were clear. Have had zero issues Replacing an inground skimmer is a chore but if you are up to it, it is more manual labor than anything else. You can save yourself a lot of money.

ok read the previous review and was worried. figured if it was broken I would just return it. however after now installing it found all threaded parts were in tact and just as good as getting it at the supply house only now including extra pvc, time, concrete blades and a bag of concrete I completed the replacement under the budget of this skimmer from the supply house. I don't know what problems the previous reviewer had or why the threads were cracked. but I think this is a well made skimmer and holds to the Hayward name it carries!!!!

The unit was a perfect fit for replacement of old skimmer. Contains all the parts needed including new faceplate gaskets and screws. Make sure you get the correct model! SP 1084 is for in-ground pool with vinyl liner. SP 1082 for in-ground pool with cement or gunnite liner. Replacement a real challenge. You may need small jackhammer to remove old skimmer.

Bought this to replace my existing in ground skimmer. Came with everything in a single shipping box. Everything is perfect. Installed it and using it today. This is the most common skimmer for in-ground pools because it is heavy construction, works perfectly, and costs the least. Hayward makes solid products for a reasonable price. My pool is 20 years old and I have many Hayward products for it. I have never had a complaint about their products.

Don’t go by the picture it wasn’t what I wanted. Never returned it which reminds me.

The only reason I didn’t give it a 5th star was the price. A little high. But, otherwise works great and got it in a timely manor.

I took the old one out it was 37 yrs old and was a direct replacement, no issues.

Heavy plactic pvc throughout. Solid construction, very strong.
