Does the job of airsealing, with a layer of insulation as well
I am a BPI certified professional, and also have LEED and Energy Star experience, and this attic hatch tent does the job. I recommend attic hatch tents to homeowners every day, since the attic hatch is often the weakest area in the thermal envelope. There are many attic hatch tents and I can't try them all, but this one works fine, was easy to install, and seems like it will be durable. I know many others are good as well. If you don't have an airtight, well insulated attic door, installing this will definitely make your home more comfortable and energy efficient.

Easy to install.
Worked exactly as stated. Bought with the stapler. Easy to install, will definitely help to keep heat in house. Would highly recommend. Installed by myself. No other tools needed.

Easy to install
Let me start by saying that I can’t attest to this product’s effectiveness or its comparative quality vs similar products. I purchased this one because it offered the same features as its more expensive competitors: R-value 15.5 and extra thickness. If this is true or not, I don’t know. What I can share is my assessment and experience. It seems to be well manufactured. Not particularly thick, but within expectations. The installation was a breeze with the right heavy duty stapler. Mind you, the measurements fit exactly the opening of the trapdoor. I started installing it in the wider frame holding the whole door ensamble, and fortunately, very quickly realized my mistake. Stick to the trapdoor frame. Once installed, the whole set up looks very tidy. Once again, will this make a significant difference? I don’t know, but it should. Some barrier should be better than no barrier at all, so I think it’s worth the small investment. If any, it looks pretty!

This cover definitely eliminates draft, and doesn't make attic access too inconvenient
The cover is pretty well made. The insulation is pretty thin, with an unimpressive R-value, but that R-value is enough to eliminate the cold draft typical of attic access doors during cold weather, and that is worth the price alone. It may not make a huge impact on heating and cooling bills, but considering how well it eliminated the draft, it should make some. Every little bit helps, right?Installation is pretty simple. You'll need a staple gun to attach it to your opening. After that, I sealed it with duct tape. Done.To access the attic you will have to un-zipper the lid on the cover, a very minor inconvenience considering how infrequently most folks go into their attics.Overall this was a very worthwhile purchase.

Install in under 5 minutes. Already feel the difference.
I installed this attic tent in about 5 minutes. Outdoor temp was about 35F so the attic was very cold. 15 minutes later I could already feel the difference in my loft. No idea how it will effect the energy bill, but anecdotal evidence is strong.

Works better than I thought
Out attic access in our upstairs laundry room and the temps are always off in there until now. I had insulation on the door and weather stripping around the edges for years but this changed it more than all that. Easy to put in I used heavyweight duct tape on the inside and outside edge and staples it to the opening tape was used to ensure the staples didn’t go through it. It took about 15 minutes to install and after zipping it up the heat rising up was noticeable. This was an affordable option to what big box stores have and I have only unzipped it a few times but seems to be pretty sturdy. Only time will tell how long it lasts but very happy this past winter with the difference it made.
