All metal fittings are carefully enclosed in wrap. The leather is a pleasant tan colour; the seller says it will get softer and darker with use, and that no chemicals were used during the making. They also say it isn't waterproof but if it gets wet can be left to dry out in the sun and will eventually acquire the same texture. Quite delighted with this bag, and the care that's been taken packing it to send.
