This ended up being a good purchase. The lamps are incredibly stylish and simple to assemble. They have three brightness settings. They look as pictured.However, I wanted these lamps to be operated by a light switch in my house. This is not possible with this model of lamp, I think due to the type of floor switch that controls the lamp brightness. So, I have to turn the light switch on and then manually turn both lamps on using the floor switches attached to the lamps. I could not find a workaround for this. I want to give this product 5 stars because they are such fashionable, study, and easy to assemble lamps, but I deducted a star because at the time of purchase there was nothing to indicate that these lamps were incompatible with a light switch/the floor switch prevents the lamps from turning on when a light switch is used. It was easy to put together and it's very sturdy. My only complaint is that the bulbs are almost too bright. You can't put the lamp in your line of vision because it's basically like staring at an exposed light bulb.
