Works perfect
I got these last year. I discovered the ladder tube I was going to use them on was compressed from previous over tightening. So the only option I saw was to cut them off about 4 inches (which would actually have the advantage that the ladder would be the original height). I put them away and did not get to until this spring because I was worried I would not make a good square cut. Then I read the way to mark pipe for a square cut was simply to wrap a sheet of paper around it ... get the paper wrapped straight and then just trace a line. Once I had a square line it took about ten minutes with a hacksaw and a file to remove burrs. Then the hinge tapped in easily. If I had know how useful these are I would have installed them right away! It is very easy to hinge the ladder out of the way. Now the robot vacuum does not have anything to get stuck on so I don't have to watch it as close. Also it is so much easier to put on/remove the solar blanket. These are sturdily constructed so I expect them to last a few years.

They fit perfectly
It's just as described. Yes, they were a little tight getting in holders, I just took my dead blow hammer and gently tapped them in. Wow, so much easier to fold the ladder over for the robot pool cleaner to work it's magic..

Tight fit
Work great but had to modify, very tight fit for 1.9 tube ladder could be under sized a little

Do not fit pool ladder
Units did not fit into pool ladder. Too big to fit

Easy to install. More robust than old hinge system.

A little wrangling to get it in installed, but the best solution out there.
Good solution (not cheap) to get a pool ladder out of the way of a pool cover. Once out, the ladder loses all rigidity (maybe just mine did) and sort of flops around. I like the locking design, where the ladder locks out by pushing it slightly forward.I had a heck of a time pushing the compressible sleeves into the ladder tube. I finally ended up having someone hold it while I hit it with a hand sledge. It certainly will never come out. Anyway, not cheap, wasn't easy to install (maybe b/c of my older and better built ladder) and I won't say an 8 year old kid could swing it in/out, but it does what it is supposed to, gets the ladder out of the way.

Very Easy to install and works like a charm.

Soild construction, a bit clunky
Seem to be quality made and where easy to install. The locking in the up position is a bit awkward and clunky to use, but it does the job.
