Great Buy!
I wanted to give a clear and honest review of this product...not just how much I love it, but how much my kitty loves it.To start- I have an 18.5 lb. diabetic cat that needs to go to the vet frequently for his glucose curves to makes sure the insulin is doing its job. Let me add that he came to us as a stray about six years ago; whether he was once someone's cat, I cannot say, but he was NOT comfortable getting into a cat carrier easily; it was always a struggle. We previously had a WalMart bought plastic carrier that was rather large because we needed something that would hold him at his weight. It always took both my husband and I taking him to and from the vet because it was just impossible for one person to carry him in his old carrier. Not to mention that despite putting a towel in there for a little added comfort, he would just slide around while driving in the car as well as trying to carry him from the car into the vet office and back. That said, the carrier did not hold his weight very well and the side latches were always popping off and my biggest fear was that it would pop while we were trying to carry him from the car to the office and he would get loose, running into traffic (as the office is located along a busy street).I decided to do some research and look for a better solution. Going into my search, I knew I wanted a bag type product of some sort. After reading a lot of reviews on similar products, I felt lost. Most were exactly what I had in mind but reviews were either horrible or most commenters said that the bags were not ideal for bigger animals.Then...I came across Pet Gear I-GO2 Plus Traveler Rolling Backpack...WOW! I'm not sure who loves it more, me or my cat lolSince purchasing this carrier we have already had to take him to the vet. In the beginning it was a struggle trying to get him in. Not because of the bag but because he tried fighting us, as usual. I did fold up a towel inside as he usually urinates in his carrier from nerves and I wanted to protect the fabric (although the inner lining is held up by velcro and is able to be removed for easy cleaning). Other features include straps on the back to use as a backpack (I personally probably would not use this feature but I can see how it would come in handy for people who travel a lot with smaller animals that are comfortable being in a carrier), raising handle and wheels, as on rolling luggage bags (this is VERY useful), a strap to use as sort of a car seat-belt while traveling, pouches in the back and on the sides to hold treats, medications, etc., also, inside are two (one on each side) leashes to attach to a collar if needed. The front and sides are mesh so the animal can see out from almost every angle (which I think my kitty really liked). Back to our experience... Once he was in, he laid right down and seemed fine. We were able to wheel him to the car easily and get him in. The entire ride (about 10 minutes) he never made a sound; usually he does some occasional whining, but not this time! We wheeled him into the vets office and sat for about five minutes, still, no sound. When the vet tech came out and wheeled him to the back, he stayed laying down ( not usual for him ). We got some wonderful feedback from the vet about his carrier and she said that our cat seemed less stressed than he normally is. Bringing him home, I had to go alone to pick him up and it was a breeze. I was NEVER able to go at it alone before because it was just impossible for me to carry my purse and his 18 lbs all the way to the car. This just made everything so much easier.Later that night my sister stopped by and I was showing her the carrier, my kitty decided to come in right behind her, and he was okay with being near the carrier, he even went up and sniffed it and rubbed against it where as with the old carrier, just the sight of it would scare him off because he'd think that he was about to be stuffed into it and taken back to the "bad place".I was afraid that the carrier wouldn't be large enough to fit his body type, even though it said it could hold up to 25lbs. because I did see a few reviews stating that their animal either didn't fit or was crammed into it. He fit perfectly; had enough room to sit, stand, lay down and move around a bit. Like I said, I am pretty confident that compared to the old one, he was much happier with this one.I am so happy I decided to take the plunge and purchase this item. I understand that to some the price is a little steep for a pet carrier but to most of us, our pets are worth it; and with all of the functions this bag offers, I don't see how you could go wrong with buying it.Below are two pictures. The first is of the bag as it was when delivered. No putting anything together, comes ready to go. The second photo (although hard to really see because my cat is black) is my kitty in the carrier while waiting at the vet.

Great case!
I have two Dachshunds that are 10 pounds each. I was worried that they wouldn't fit comfortably inside this case, but they do. I also have 2 cats that are 17 pounds each, and they fit great. As a backpack/rolling carrier: Each dog has enough space on the bottom portion to lye down together(even with their long 'hot dog' bodies). The case comes with a thin mat that velcro's to the inside of the case. It rolls nicely, and the quality is very good. The mesh netting on the three sides are great, so that the dogs can see outside of the case. I wore the case as a backpack around the house with the two dogs inside, it fits very comfortable. The straps are padded, and there is a padding between the backpack and the case handle so that it doesn't put any uncomfortable pressure on your back. The wheels on the bottom also do not affect your back, they are positioned in a way that it won't touch your skin while your wearing the backpack. As a car seat/tote: I don't know if I'm missing something, but as far as I can tell there is not any type of fastening device to secure the case into the car. The case did not come with any directions so I don't know if there's a secret compartment with a strap to secure the case. Anyway, I lye the case down so that the lengthy side sits on the seat. This way my two long back dogs can fit comfortably. As an airline case: Yeah, right. The advertisement says that it fits MOST airlines, I doubt it. This case is huge. Maybe back in 2001 this case would be acceptable but I highly doubt this case would be allowed. It's dimensions are FAR to wide to fit underneath ANY seat. There's no way this case would fit...no way at all.

Good - but a couple of design shortcomings
I love Pet Gear products. They are very solid, and last a long time, and are usually well designed. The materials are strong and the zippers last well.BUT - two things about this backpack bug me: the backpack straps hang down and get tangled under the wheels when you switch from using this as a backpack to rolling it. And if it's winter - then the straps get too dirty to want to touch them (from getting dragged under the wheels). This might not be so much of a problem, except to use this thing well, you may want to often switch from rolling to carrying this thing as a backpack. Grrrr. And it BUGS ME that Pet Gear thinks everybody is 5 feet tall! The handle on this thing to pull it on it's wheels (like a dolly) is TOO SHORT!!! If you use it for more than a few minutes, and you are the average size guy - your back will be screaming at you! Get it together Pet Gear. Please design your products so that everybody can use them. This shortcoming has bugged me so much that I've had to resort to putting this thing on a folding dolly to carry the 'kids' around. (which sort of defeats the purpose of having wheels on the bottom of this thing, and a handle to pull it! I have to put it on this sort of dolly: https://www.amazon.ca/VIVO-Aluminum-Assistant-Telescoping-CART-FHT1/dp/B01N210TDW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1520932372&sr=8-3&keywords=Folding+Wheeled+Hand+Cart&dpID=31WSzfeJ47L&preST=_SY445_QL70_&dpSrc=srch Very frustrating!

Doesn't Fold
The media could not be loaded. It is very big... the mesh door does zip down so you can have better ventilation, though your pet may try to jump out... it does have a ring inside to attach a lead to to help avoid them from jumping out... The thing I hate about this carrier, and is my own fault for not verifying, but it remains as this big box... the floor doesn't fold up to help reduce the size for storage or traveling... it will take up some room in your vehicle... My Rat Terrier is 25 inches long from nose to tail and 27 lb., and he is a load in this... You really need help to get it on with a big pet like mine in it, unless you put it on a table first. In the field I would have to lash it to a tree at shoulder height, insert dog, close mesh door to keep him in then pull tag line of rope to release from the tree... Or if you are a good squatter, go low and good luck... You have to have the pack high on your back in order to keep your pet level when wearing, and the straps do tend to want to be wide, necessitating you to have your hands on the straps to keep them from spreading out... this should be able to be alleviated by just having another short strap looped around the straps and across your chest adjusted to keep the straps closer together... It seems to be well constructed... the reviewers complaining that the straps drag can be ignored because it is easy to avoid this problem... see attached video...
