as long as you know the person is going to be needing it.. its meant for an ez-starter... So if you see them using a "Traxxas EZ Start" system then they may need one, someday.. as they don't last forever... It doesn't come in any fancy packaging.. so would be best along side some other R/C gifts/gadgets/addons
