They do work, but are a tad too thick for me for my vintage Atlas/Ball bale type canning jars. I don't have the strength in my thumbs anymore to push the wire over the star. With the Red Rubber Canning Rings, I don't have to struggle as much. Both these and the rubber ones are being used right now.

I bought these to resolve an issue with my Perky Pet hummingbird feeders. The ant moat leaked as the seal between the cap and bottle was not tight. Added this seal and solved the problem I can fill the moats to the brim and no leakage. Excellent! (Note, the blue bottle feeder is not the perky pet one...the blue bottle has a solid cap so no leakage. But it is a hummer!

They are okay. not very thick and just barely work. But they do work. Not as big as the red ones I use to use, but they wore out and I had to get something new.

I own a small custom vinyl business. I make solar power lights using mason jars. I was looking for something to put around the lid to help keep the water out of the mason jars. I ordered the regular size seals. They fit perfect in the lids and keep the water out of the jars.

You could just insert the metal lid that you used to can with into the white plastic screw lid. That worksworks.

Finally my plastic jar lids are air tight. No more leaks! Love it!
