How much does the waterproof box reduce signal?

Barely noticeable. Plastics and fiberglass do little to degrees RF performance. Metal, wood, water, your body and glass with solar film on it are the biggest problems for wireless performance

How do i know it’s charging? i can’t seem to figure out how to charge it right. can i charge it with the switch off? or does it have to be on.

The LED Charging Status Indicator will only turn on while the EcoExtreme 2 is connected to a 5V power source. It will shine red while charging and switch to green when the unit has reached a full charge. Approximately 3 hours of charging is required from a low to a full charge.
