I don't know about this specific product, but if it was made in the EU, there has been a ban on animal testing for cosmetics there since 2013. Beiersdorf is a German company.

The label says firming, has anyone noticed this effect?

This product worked as a firming cream for me until I moved to Colorado! Here nothing works.
