Unique and Creative!
An incredibly successful blend of CCBS with the classic technic system. A unique build that we haven't seen the likes of since 2001, this set is probably the most innovative set of the year. While not the most incredibly functional or great in terms of playability, when placed on the stand Akida has a nice range of motion and a unique look that is very eye catching when put on display.

Enhances building skills and creative thinking.
Building skills - many pieces to put together and change up; creative thinking - developing new hybrids, backgrounds of characters and fantasy play.7 y/o grandson got a bunch of these for his b-day after he played with them at LegoFest last year. Thought they would be too many pieces but he's put together many intricate Lego sets in the past year.He loves them!!!! He can change the pieces around and make all kinds of variations of creatures.Got him a book to introduce him to the backgrounds of the characters which enhanced his playing pleasure even more.

Akida the Shark
Akida is interesting cause unlike some of the other creatures, it's based on a real animal rather than a mythical creature. In Akida's case: A shark. A neat thing about this figure is that, it comes with a little stand that you can place the figure on, and make it look like it's swimming, though it's not a tight connection. Also cool is that Akida is the only creature that has a ranged weapon, two in fact. Akida comes with two stud shooters that fire by turning the little propellers on each of it's fins.Like the others, Akida also comes with a Shadow Trap. This one has long black horns used for it's legs. But from the looks of it and how they are shaped, they could actually be tentacles, giving it the visage of an octopus. So that's rather neat. The combine form with Gali is nice looking, with the best part being that it gives Gali Akida's stud shooters. Making her one of the three Toa to have a ranged weapon. Though Akida's combine form with Gali suffers from one minor thing, the face is painted silver. Because of that, it doesn't blend in all that well when Gali has her golden mask one, unlike Tahu and Kopaka's Unite forms.I also like to take the opportunity to criticizes the fact that all of the creatures share the same head design. I understand why they did is, as the design is made to fit over all the Toa's heads in the unite forms, but there still could have been some verity in the head sculpts.Akida is a really nice set. If you have Gali, I definitely recommend getting this figure for the untie form.

My son loves it!
Excellent quality as always from Lego and my 5 year old can assemble it almost unassisted, so perfect for him. He watches the TV version of Bionicle, so he loves that he can build his favourite characters.
