Bought a copy for my son for Christmas, sort of a last minute filler, and it has ended up the favorite gift of Christmas! The quality of the illustrations and the stories/notes with the recipes are fantastic. For any Tolkien fans out there, this is a wondered and not expensive gift. We were shocked at the quality of this book for the price. Honestly looks like a $50+ kind of book.

I ordered this cookery book on a whim. The recipes are easy to read and follow and all ingredients are available in the U.S.; however, none of the recipes have "called" to me yet. But probably will. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying reading the author's comments and the wide ranging selection of recipes themselves and especially enjoy the illustrations. This is a fun cookery book.

My grandson, LOTR follower, loves this book. I read through it before gifting to him, it not only has good recipes it is also entertaining. I’ve decided to get a copy for myself. Enjoy it for yourself!

This cookbook is wonderful! The recipes I've tried so far have been delicious and I love the bits of lore surrounding them. There's a wide variety for all kinds of tastes for all kinds of meals. The ingredients and instructions are clear and easy to follow. Some of the ingredients are a little less common or more expensive, like quail eggs for the dwarven hand pies, but the author was good about putting in substitutions. I really appreciate that as somebody living in a small town where it's not easy to get things. In terms of the book itself, the print quality is good, the formatting is well done and it's easy to read and find things with the glossary. Highly recommended - I look forward to trying more of these recipes!

Got it for a secret Santa gift and the recipient loved it!! So many fun recipes and artwork inside as well!

The recipes are a little questionable.. but the idea and the illustrations are worth the purchase. Fast postage - would buy from this seller again.

I bought this book as a gift, but I read it first! The amount of research that was put in this is remarkable. I believe professor Tolkien would approve of it. I hope it will be translated into other languages (and other units of measure!) soon!
