Bought this 2yrs ago after I had a puncture from a screw up in the north of Scotland, cost me 4hrs & £75 to get fixed. A slow puncture started a week ago, losing about 3pst per day. Checked the tyre on the car but couldn’t see anything, but after I took the wheel off I found a nail embedded between the treads on the outer edge of the tyre. So thought I would give this a go. Reread the instructions as it had been a while, it’s all pretty straightforward. The most difficult bit was pushing the reamer in initially, that took a lot of effort, but the feel of it the steel belting was putting up a struggle, however eventually got it in and worked it in and out to clear the hole, the rest was a piece of cake. That was a week ago and there has not been anymore air loss since. 2 additions that I have made to the kit is a tyre valve unscrewer and a white wax pencil. The former makes it easy to let the tyre down without damaging the valve and the latter to find the hole again as I found that after I’d removed the nail it was real difficult to find where it had been. Great piece of kit.

This is a great product, repaired my tyre over a week ago and it is still holding strong. I ended up with a 10mm screw in my tyre, which was enough to puncture it. Took my car to 2 garages and both said it was right on the limit of repair. I decided to look into repairing it myself, temporarily of course and came across this. It arrived next day and was well packaged with easy to follow instructions. It also has links to a YouTube video for anyone unsure. I watched it and it was very clear. The whole process from start to finish took a grand total of 5 mins and couldn’t have been any easier. I’m actually surprised at how easy it was. My tyre has been fine since and I’ve tested the pressure every couple of days, just to be sure. I’d recommend this to anyone who’s car doesn’t carry a spare. If you’re in the unfortunate position of picking up a screw, this will get you home or to a repair centre. I would advise adding a set of pliers to it for extracting screws/nails etc.

it works a treat and very simple to use. The instructions were fairly clear but it's best if you watch a YouTube video a couple of times before you start , just to make sure you get the process right. From start to finish it took around 15 minutes to plug the puncture and reinflate the tyre.

I haven't actually used the kit as yet, but it seems really good. The weight of the gun and the dowl tool is impressive, which shows quality. The instructions are clear. It comes in a quality storage bag. Looking forward to fixing my tyre. Only 4 stars because I haven't used it, but any problems will probably be my doing anyway.

The plastic mushrooms things broke whilst being retracted. I had a mushroom style kit years ago and it was fine, so I know what I'm doing here. Also double checked a few videos too. The tool set that comes with the kit is great It would be ood if only the plastic/rubber composition was stronger. Went to Halfords where I bought a kit from for £9. Worked perfectly first time. This pitstop kit thing is being sent back pronto!

easy to use with good clear instructions.

I recently picked up a screw in my tyre and after visiting several tyre shops none would attempt a repair as it was outside the approved repair zone. My tyres are all season and I needed to order a tyre which left me with a slowly deflating tyre that needed a temporary repair so I ordered this grand pit stop kit. I removed the tyre from my Suzuki to gain better access to the puncture, removed the offending screw and deflated fully my tyre. Followed the instructions to ream out the puncture to the first step on the reamer. Not sure if I should have used the full width of the reamer or not ? Pushed the pointed end and nozzle fully into the tyre, primed the gun with a mushroom plugs screwed it onto the nozzle and pushed the plunger into the tyre with the plug. Pulled back on the gun and the mushroom plugs was in, got some pliers and pulled the plug to fully seat the mushroom against the inner wall of the trye. Then pumped up my tyre to 35psi before cutting the plug stem off level with the tyre tread. I drove on this repaired tyre for 4 days until my new tyre was ready for fitting and it lost no pressure at all. I've since read online that to make the repair more permanent you can use some vulcanising fluid on the plug and reamer but I'm not sure on that.

I haven't used this in a real life scenario yet but I did test it on an old tire I use for splitting wood. I hammered a large nail through the tire, removed it and then plugged it. Filled it with water and not one drop seeped through. I'm positive it will do the same with air pressure. Fortunately, I haven't picked up any nails or screws in my vehicle tires yet. This tool is genius. Simply follow the steps and you really can't go wrong. The concept behind this tool is brilliant. It works much like a thread-setter tool (or pop-rivet gun) but with rubber plugs. Kudos to the inventor. I was always afraid of using the old type of plugs but this tool removes that fear. No more special trips to the tire shop for those pesky nails and screws that I seem to find so often. Don't hesitate, this tool is well worth the cost.
